The farm life sim title offers players the opportunity to create their dream farms and build relationships, but one recent customization issue brought up by a player shows there is still room for improvement.Stardew Valleystill has yet to allow silo customization, which could be a small, but effective, way to make a player’s experience even better.
The point was recently brought up by Reddit user AlphaKiIo, who voiced frustration that the silo color clashed with the rest of their barn decor. This quickly sparked a discussion amongfellowStardew Valleyplayerswho wished for the same type of customization. User Left-Butterscotch342 replied, “I definitely think it’s weird you can’t paint the silo when almost all other buildings are paintable.” If developer ConcernedApe plans another update for the game in the future, including silo customization, may be a strong place to start for improvements.

After Update 1.6, ConcernedApe’s Future Plans Are a Mystery

Since 1.6 dropped,Stardew Valleynow feels bigger than ever, but ConcernedApe himself has even stated that he may never be finished updating the farm sim. In a recentinterview with NPR, ConcernedApe stated, “I think I will always have a desire to come back and maybe add a thing or two. You know, maybe even 50 years from now, I might add something.” Now that he has returned to working onHaunted Chocolatieras well, there may not be another extensive update like 1.6, but it wouldn’t be surprising if small improvements happened periodically in the future.
It’s unclear how ConcernedApe plans to balance bothStardew ValleyandHaunted Chocolatier, but if the former doesn’t receive an update to this type of customization, then maybe the latter will have a strong chance at offering players the opportunity to customize every facet of their in-game home.

Stardew Valley’s Growth May Never End
Despite the game being nearly a decade old at this point, ConcernedApe still clearly has a lot of love and ideas left forStardew Valley. It could make farms feel more cohesive overall, and that would undoubtedly be satisfying for many fans.
