Giving gifts to the characters inHello Kitty Island Adventureis the best way to raise their friendship level and unlock more tasks for you to do around Friendship Island. When you start your playthrough, you’ll likely only have 1-heart gifts and maybe a 2-heart gift at your disposal. If you want 3-heart gifts, which give you the most friendship points, you should start unlocking the various machines around the island.
TheSoda Machineis located in Gemstone Mountain, which you’ll unlock through a quest with Keroppi. In order for this to become available, you’ll need to complete two separate tasks. Getting the Soda Machine is highly recommended since it’s required for making 3-heart gifts for two of your friends inIsland Adventure.
How to Unlock the Soda Machine
Which Quests to Complete
to unlock the Soda Machine inGemstone Town (Gemstone Mountain), you’ll need to helpPompompurin, who’s located intheDessert Boat in the Oasis. You will also need to assistKeropiin restoring theNature PreserveatSpooky Swamp. The following quests must be completed to unlock the Soda Machine:
Once you’ve done these, you’ll find Keroppi in Gemstone Mountain with the “Parched” quest. You need to bring Keroppi aSwampy Soda, which you’re able to get by making it at the Soda Machine.
FindPekkle, who is usually outside theDance Hall, and you’ll learn how to use the Soda Machine. You’ll get a freeFizzy Crystal, which you should already have the crafting plan for since you’ve completed “Dessert-ed Boat.” Craft the Swampy Soda (x1 Fizzy Crystal andx1 PumpkinorSpinip), then deliver it to Keroppi.
How to Use Three Ingredients
When you first unlock the Soda Machine, you’ll only be able to use two ingredients, one of which is the Fizzy Crystal. If you want to get the Kuromi and Pochacco’sbest gift/3-heart gift, you’ll need to upgrade the Soda Machine. Doing so will let you usethree ingredientsinstead of two.
To use three ingredients at the Soda Machine, you needlevel 6 friendship with Pekkle. The best way to do this is to give him theMountain Soundtrack, his 3-heart gift. However, if you don’t have the crafting plans for the Mountain Soundtrackor don’t have enough materials, you should give him theStacked Stonesinstead. These only requirex3 Calming Crystalsto make.

How to Unlock Soda Recipes
Every Soda Machine recipe requiresFizzy Crystal. You received the crafting plans for the Fizzy Crystal in the “Dessert-ed Boat” quest. To makex1 Fizzy Crystal, you needx6 Fizzy Ore. Remember: you’re able to only get Fizzy Ore by riding the minecarts insideGemstone Mine.
Alternatively, you can have theNul outside My Melody’s Storecollect x60 Fizzy Ore for you. However, if you do this,you’ll receive the Fizzy Orethe following day. So it’s not advised to do this if you need the ore immediately.
The two drinks you’ll want to make with the Soda Machine arePochacco Energy PopandPumpkin Spice Soda. These are the 3-heart gifts for Pochacco and Kuromi respectively.
