Cock-A-Doodle-Doom is the ninth DLC stage forAstro Botand the third of five in the Vicious Void galaxy. Like the initial batch ofAstro BotDLC stages, Cock-A-Doodle-Doom was designed with speedrunning in mind, although players won’t need to set a fast time in order to unlock the stage’s VIP Bot.

This bodes well, as Cock-A-Doodle-Doom is one of the toughest stages inAstro Bot, with players needing to master the timings of not just enemies, but also stage obstacles. The following guide will explain how to complete Cock-A-Doodle-Doom and provide info on the rewards that players will get for doing so.

How to Complete Cock-A-Doodle-Doom

To begin with, players will need to navigate some spiky platforms. The first set of spikes moves around in an anti-clockwise pattern, while the second moves from right to left. Players should aim to land on a platform just after the spikes have gone back down then useAstro Bot’s chicken power-upto move up to the next section. If they mess up their timing, they can always hover or perform a mid-air punch to delay their landing a little.

After dodging or defeating the electric enemy, players will need to get past one of the ball-swinging enemies fromthe Great Master Challenge. They can either jump over its ball and chain or hover over its head to break the glass and destroy it. After doing so, they should blast up and grab onto the rope, then however across to the next one. They’ll start slipping down as soon as they grab it, so should be ready to blast off again pretty quickly.

There are some more spiky platforms after the ropes, followed by some wooden platforms and a purple spitter enemy. These should be easy enough to navigate safely, although players should be mindful of where the spikes and the spitter’s projectiles are at all times. They can then blast up with the chicken and take out another ball-swinger, after which, they’ll need to slide across some blue cables.

The next few sections require players to dodge more spikes and punch some red buttons to open up the path ahead of them. The key here is to avoid panicking. Between Astro’s chicken power-up, hovering capabilities, and mid-air punch, players have plenty of ways to keep themselves up in the air, so if they’re not feeling a landing they can always delay it a little and wait for the spikes to pass.

After pushing the second button, players will be faced with one more purple spitter. They don’t have to kill it, but they will need to verify that they keep moving and avoid moving in a straight line. Assuming they can get past it, they’ll just need to use the chicken power-up one more time to blast through the blue spinners. This will take them up to the finish platform, aVIP bot, and the end of the Cock-A-Doodle-Doom DLC stage.

Cock-A-Doodle-Doom Cameo Bot

Completing Cock-A-Doodle-Doom will reward players withthe Rebel Photographer Cameo Bot, which is based onJadefromBeyond Good & Evil. If they then make their way to the Gatcha Lab at the Crash Site, they’ll be able to get the Truth Snapper item to complete the look. Like all of theother Vicious Void DLC stages, there’s only one VIP Bot in Cock-A-Doodle-Doom, so players don’t need to worry too much about completing the stage in under a certain time.
