Venus Theory understandably didn’t delve too deep into the specifics of this ending, but did allude to some methods players can follow to trigger it. He stated that it’s not particularly difficult to achieveAvowed’s super-rare ending, but it requires a set of “very specific,” potentially counter-intuitive decisions throughout the game. The deciding factor is a final speech check, where if the player succeeds, they experienceone ofAvowed’s standard endings, but if they fail, the rarer variant plays out. Interestingly, Venus Theory hinted thatAvowedhas an even more obscure ending that could take weeks or even months for players to discover.
Given how dedicated some gamers can be, though, it might not be long until every singleAvowedending is discovered and cataloged online. One method of doing this quickly is the age-old tactic of “save scumming,” where players make save states at crucial junctures in the game and reload them to select different dialogue choices and speech checks, helping them reach the ending sequence they desire while saving a lot of time. However, somegames frown upon save scummingas the method foregoes the need for multiple playthroughs.
