Avoweddoes a great job of hiding valuableloot behind puzzles or locked-off areas. This allows players to explore the possibilities of acquiring the mysterious, making the reward even more exciting. Although there’s an abundance of locked chests in the game, there’s one found early on in the Shatterscarp region. There’s a chest requiring the Survivalist Key, which can be found after talking to an interesting NPC nearby. Here’s what you need to do.
Survivalist Chest Key Location in Avowed
Players can find the Survivalist Chest inthe Ancient Lakebed areain the Shatterscarp region ofAvowed. The location is located towards the east of the infected homestead and is pretty easy to find.
Eliminating the Enemies in the Ancient Lakebed
As players approach the area, they’ll beambushed by a group of Xaurips and Blights. Due to the sheer number of enemies, it’s not really a good idea to run away. So you’ll need to start by targeting theXaurip Priests and the Bulwark.
These should be your number one priority before taking out all the other smaller enemies. After they’ve been eliminated, focus your attention on the Blights and make quick work of them.
Reaching the Survivalists & Getting the Survivalist Chest Key
Once the area is clear of enemies, approach the location marked on the map, and you’ll find some rocks grouped together to form steps with wooden boards placed on them. So, hop across the rocks until you reach an elevated area with a group ofsurvivalists resting by a campfire.
Talk to the person standing on the edge, and they’ll spark a conversation about the plagues. You’ll have to pass a speech check with intellect level 6 being a requirement. Once you do that, convince the survivalist thatthere’s strength in numbers, and he’ll give theSurvivalist Chest Keyto you.
Opening the Survivalist Chest
Once you have the key, open the Survivalist chest next to the campfire to getClimber’s Crampons, a unique set of boots. These boots are pretty solid as they provide a10% reduction in incoming fire, frost, and shock damage. There’s also a special talent on the boots thatincreases your parkour speed by 30%, making climbing and other parkour actions significantly faster inAvowed.
