Summary
Over the years,Batman and Daredevilhave often been compared to each other by fans of Marvel and DC Comics. Although their backgrounds differ, both are vigilantes who spend their nights brooding on rooftops, and defending the weak from the predatory villains that inhabit their respective cities.
The comparisons have led to conversations with fans wondering how Daredevil would fare against villains if he were to live in Gotham City, or if Batman’s villains came to Marvel’s version of New York City and wandered into Hell’s Kitchen. While there are metahuman villains that may cause Daredevil’s strain, there are alsomany Batman that he could take downusing his enhanced senses, acrobatic fighting style, and seemingly endless willpower.
8Condiment King
He Would Be Just As Much Of A Joke In Marvel
Even Batman rarely struggles to fight theCondiment King,as he is considered a joke among the long line of Batman rogues. He’s a man who wields mustard and ketchup as if they are assault weapons, and the least he can do is maybe make Batman slip on the floor. Other than that, Batman often has the Condiment King locked up before the villain can decorate a hot dog.
Daredevil would likely have an easier time facing Condiment King, thanks to his enhanced senses, which allow him to smell the spices and vinegar in the villain’s weapons. He would be able to dodge any attacks, whether they involved ketchup, mustard, or even Worcestershire sauce, and he could use his escrima sticks to subdue the villain.
7Clayface
No Disguise Would Fool Daredevil
Clayfaceis an anthropomorphic blob of clay with immense strength, even capable of hurtingmembers of the Justice League. However, Batman almost always takes him out because of his hubris, and Daredevil is no stranger to villains with similar weaknesses. The metahuman abilities would keep Daredevil busy at first, but he has taken on the likes of Nuke and Electro.
Additionally, Clayface would not be able to hide behind the disguise of a regular person like he usually does with Batman. Matt Murdock not only uses his superhuman senses to give him a sonar-like vision, but he can detect when people are lying and would likely be able to detect the clay-like physiology of Clayface immediately.
6Lock-Up
If Punisher Were A Deranged Security Guard
Daredevil hates the corruption of justice just as much as he hates criminals.Lock-Up, a security guard turned supervillainwho did not debut in the comics, is an example of that, as he uses the same methods as Batman to find and kill those he considers guilty. It’s the same reason why Daredevil and The Punisher don’t always agree on things, but Lock-Up is far worse because his version of justice is far more extreme.
While Lock-Up would certainly put up a fight, Daredevil’s anger often serves as a significant advantage in his combat skills, and he would leverage that to defeat the villain. Furthermore, Daredevil would likely go to great lengths, both as a vigilante and a lawyer, to ensure that Lock-Up truly lived up to his name.
5Deadshot
Deadshot Is The DC Version Of Bullseye
One of Daredevil’s greatest rivals is Bullseye, who can hit a target from any angle or distance and with any weapon. He’s an assassin with similar combat skills as Daredevil, which has resulted in many intense fights between the two. This is similar to the rivalry between Batman andDeadshot, an assassin with the same skill set minus the martial arts and sadistic personality.
Deadshot is arguably the greatest marksman in the DC universeand has led the Suicide Squadto victory many times. However, Batman often overpowers Deadshot in hand-to-hand combat, and Daredevil would likely do the same. Daredevil would also likely appeal to the Floyd Lawton side of Deadshot by using his daughter to convince him to either give up or do the right thing, which has always been Deadshot’s biggest weakness.
4The Penguin
Not On The Same Level As Kingpin
Daredevil is no stranger to dealing with crime lords, with his greatest nemesis being Wilson Fisk, also known as the Kingpin. Even though Oswald Cobblepott holds a lot of power in the criminal underworld asThe Penguin, he often relies on his thugs or hires other villains to actually fight Batman for him.
Kingpin, on the other hand,is nearly superhuman, having taken on Spider-Man and Daredevil in a fight and won. Someone like Penguin would most certainly need another villain like Lady Shiva or Deathstroke to protect himself from Daredevil. As a nice bonus, Matt Murdock is also the best lawyer in New York City and would guarantee that Oswald never leaves Blackgate Prison in the first place.
3Killer Croc
No Sewer Is Safe From Daredevil
Daredevil is not quite as superhuman as so many other New York-based heroes in the Marvel universe, but that doesn’t stop him, and villains such asKiller Crocwould not phase him. In the comics, Daredevil was able to bring downthe Spider-Man villain known as Rhinoin seconds despite that character having immense strength that even Spider-Man has struggled with in the past.
Killer Croc often has the upper hand over Batman when the battle takes place in the sewers, making use of home-field advantage. Fortunately, Daredevil has radar-like senses that will allow him to detect even the slightest movements in the tunnels or the water. If Batman can take down Killer Croc using speed and agility, so can Daredevil.
2Mr. Freeze
Matt Murdock Would Help Victor Get Better
One of Daredevil’s greatest qualities is similar to that of Batman: he always seeks redemption for his villains. This perspective leads to his refusal to take a life in the pursuit of justice. A villain who would particularly bring out this aspect of Matt Murdock isMr. Freeze. Although he commits many atrocities, he does so in a desperate attempt to save his terminally ill wife, making him a more sympathetic character.
Batman often appeals to the good side of Mr. Freeze, which has resulted in the villain willingly backing down. Daredevil, being just as much of a good person as Batman, would likely not only do the same but would use his Matt Murdock persona to get Mr. Freeze the best outcome in court as his defense attorney.
1The Riddler
Daredevil Would Gladly Cheat To Beat Him
The Riddleris equally as iconic as he is annoying, badgering Batman endlessly with puzzles and riddles to solve across Gotham. While Daredevil is just asmuch of a noir characterwho utilizes investigations and combat to dispense justice, he most certainly would not have the patience for any of the Riddler’s shenanigans.
Using his heightened senses, Daredevil would find ways to bypass the Riddler’s traps and then take him down. Like the Penguin, the Riddler is not a physical threat and often relies on his technology to do the job for him, or has his own paid thugs, whom Batman rarely struggles with. As such, Daredevil would likely have the question mark-clad villain in Arkham Asylum before midnight.
