Berserk fans were initially reluctant but gradually warmed up to the idea as the chapters released by Mori and Studio Gaga improved in terms of quality. If things continue in the same way, then Berserk fans are in for a treat.
Kentarou Miura’s Berserk started serialization in August 1989 in Monthly Animal House before being moved to Monthly Animal in 1992. Berserk has inspired not just manga and anime series, but also video games. Almost all souls-like games have been inspired by Miura’s dark, twisted world.
Berserk has done well in terms of sales too. According to reports, the manga has sold more than 60 million copies, making it one of the best-selling titles of all time. It is worth noting that Berserk isn’t as accessible as shonen titles, which makes this feat even more incredible. If it were to land on a popular website, Berserk’s fame would unlikely increase tenfold.
