Summary
Yakuza: Like a DragonandLike a Dragon: Infinite Wealthtook the series to new heights by adding turn-based combat. There was also an emphasis on classes and equipment.Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaiiis a step back to normalcy for the rest of the series, putting Goro Majimain charge of the show.
Instead of equipping elaborate sets of armor or weapons, there is one accessory that boosts Goro’s stats: rings. Players can equip one ring on each of Goro’s ten fingers to bling him out inLike a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii. Here are the best ways to get these rings early on.
10Anchor Ring
Help Goro Break Stuff Faster
The Anchor Ring is a relatively cheap ring players can buy around Honolulu including Reef Riders. It will give players a nice boost to Defense and Blade Defense for melee fighters who use weapons like knives or swords. It will boost how much Heat players generate but only if they have the Compass Ring And Voyage Ring equipped. Heat is the blue meter below health that will allow players to use special moves like breaking a bike over someone’s head. On its own, the Anchor Ring is still good though.
9Black Tortoise Ring
A God In The Making
The Black Tortoise Ring is comparable to the Anchor Ring in terms of price and can be found around Honolulu like at the Night Marchers store. It will boost Attack and Defense which is a rare combo for the early hours or at least it is to this degree. The Defense boost is good but being able to hit harderduring brawling matchesis nice too. This ring has a bonus effect that will protect against status ailments but only if all four god-like rings are equipped including another hood early one, the Vermillion Phoenix Ring.
8Chain Hook Ring
Enhance The Grappling Hook
The Chain Hook Ring is the most expensive ring players can discover in the early hours of the game. It will boost Attack and Defense which is fine enough but the bonus is the reason to buy it at Honolulu Daddies. Eventually, players will unlock a grappling hook that players can use in battle to speed toward enemies and the Chain Hook Ring will unlock a finishing move of sorts. It can also be used inLike a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaiias a standardgrappling hook in other gameslike for scaling tall buildings.
7Hannya Ring
An All-Around Great Accessory
The Hannya Ring is another ring that will gain bonus effects if others are equipped. In this case, players need to buy the Sakura Ring and the Snake Ring to increase Goro’s attack speed while in his Mad Dog stance.
The Hannya Ring itself is tied to a side quest called Aloha Links wherein players have to make friends around town like they did inLike a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. After gaining 50 links, players can return to the Revole Bar and talk to Kei for this prize.
6M Ring
Another Heat Booster
The M Ring can be purchased at Hyper Ecstasy which is a shop that let’s say adults will like to frequent. It’s weird players can buy a ring here especially when it is next to more colorful items but the juxtaposition between odd and normal is whattheYakuzaserieshas always been good at. It’s expensive but this time will increase Defense and provide some Shock Resistance. Enemies may carry a taser around, for example, which can stop Goro in his tracks if he isn’t careful.
5Pistol Ring
A Trigger Happy Solution
The Pistol Ring is another that boosts the Attack and Defense stats. It can be bought at Julia’s Brilliant Design but it will probably take a while to raise the money. Goro’s other stance in the game is called Sea Dog wherein he will role-play asa pirate captaincomplete with a costume and two buccaneer blades. Players will later unlock a pistol to come with the stance too. They can charge it up slowly to fire one round and the Pistol Ring will make this process go by faster.
4Sacrifice Ring
Revival At A Cost
The Sacrifice Ring is what Kei will give players first as part of the Aloha Links side quest. Players just need to befriend 25 people around town from random tourists to pets that need some food. The ring has very low stat bumps for Defense, Bullet Defense, and Blade Defense. However, it will revive Goro on the spot once before breaking. So be sure to only equip it before going against a strong boss or when running around Honolulu and pretending to bea bounty hunterfor the local cops.
3Sakura Ring
Resist The Burn
The Sakura Ring can be purchased at Julia’s Brilliant Design along with the aforementioned Pistol Ring. It’s one of three accompanying the Hannya Ring and the Snake Ring in boosting Goro’s Mad Dog stance. It has a decent star but more so than that this ring has Burn Resistance.
Hawaii and the high seas are full of flame-wielding enemies from bombs to torchbearers. It’s good to have protection against these situations to prevent fire from damaging Goro over time in battle.
2Snake Ring
Expensive But Effective
The Snake Ring is the final ring completing the Hannya Ring and the Sakura Ring trilogy. Of the three, this might have the best-balanced stats of them all. It is expensive and the ring can be bought at Honolulu Daddies along with the pricier Chain Hook Ring. There’s not much else to say strategically other than to note this ring looks cool and is well worth all those hard-earned dollars inLike a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii.
1Vermillion Phoenix Ring
Another Part Of The God Quadrilogy
Finally, there is the Vermillion Phoenix Ring which is one of the godlikes next to the Black Tortoise Ring. It’s another expensive one and it can be purchased at Ganryujima Armory which is close to the Revolve Bar. It will boost the Attack and Defense stats nicely and bring players closer to preventingstatus effects, which is always a burden in an RPG. Players will have to wait to complete this quadrilogy until later in the game though.
