Summary
No large open-world title would be complete without plenty of Easter eggs, including pop culture references and nods to other games.Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2continues this tradition, with many secrets to find acrossthe game’s two maps.
Among thebest Easter eggs forKCD2, there are references to medieval history, the success of the first game, as well as popular franchises such asSkyrim,Harry Potter, andElden Ring. The sheer number of hidden secrets in this RPG is truly staggering, with more being found all the time, meaning that not everybody’s favorite will be listed here.
7Let Me Solo Her
An Elden Ring Community Easter Egg
While Easter eggs often pay homage to fellow games, few simultaneously reference real-life players of those games. However, that is exactly whatKCD2has done by featuring a skeleton with a jar on its head, which anyElden Ringfan will know as Let Me Solo Her, a highly skilled individual who took down Melania multiple times with naught but a jar helmet and katanas.
To find thisElden RingEaster egg inKCD2, players will need to be on the Trosky map, and head southwest of the Lower Semine Mill. Upon finding the woodcutters, players should look for some steps, and then head on until they find the skeleton. There are even some poppies, perhaps in reference to Melenia and the Scarlet Rot.
6How Horses Look From The Front
A Reference To An Iconic Medieval Manuscript Image
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2is theperfect game for fans of medieval history, and is packed full of historical callouts and niche details. Those lucky enough to have already discovered the absurdity of medieval illuminated manuscripts, especially depictions of animals, will be glad to know there is aKCD2Easter egg for them.
By zooming in on the map over the Semine stables, players will see a funny-looking horse, drawn from the front. This is an homage to an even more hilarious depiction by a medieval artist who clearly struggled with perspective.
5Skyrim Easter Eggs
Adventurers Who Took Arrows To The Knee… Or Got Bit By A Ram
One of the most iconic lines and memes fromSkyrimis about a guard who used to be an adventurer, but who “took an arrow to the knee”. On theroad to Kuttenbergfrom Devil’s Den before reaching Grund, players may meet Karel Arrowhead, who has an arrow stuck in his head. When talking to him, Henry will say how he knows someone who “took an arrow to the knee”, which pales in comparison with this man’s pain.
There is also a sheepherder whom Henry can talk to who claims to have once had an adventurous soul before a ram bit him in the knee. This is Herdsboy Siegfried, who is found north of Tachov in the Trosky region. He is part of theSheep Among Wolves side quest.
4King Arthur’s Sword In The Stone
Another Sword For Henry To Search For
The legend of King Arthur having to pull the sword Excalibur out of a stone is one of the most iconic, and as Arthurian Literature began in the Middle Ages, it’s easy to see whyKCD2features an Easter egg of this event.
Henry canfindKCD2’ssword in the stonein the Trosky region, to the northwest of the vast Rocktower Pond. From the road around the pond, players will hopefully find a winding path up into the rocks. From here, they should search the woods using the provided map marker for reference. Unfortunately, the Weapon Stub which Henry pulls out of the rock is no real match for Excalibur.
3Harry Potter Easter Eggs
Harry Catching The Snitch, A Cart Crashed Into A Tree, Quidditch Balls, & Brooms
Fans of the original game may know that Harry Potter himself can be found in a grave, buried in his Quidditch robes, with a broom and a Golden Snitch. Those same players and fans of the popular wizarding franchise will be glad to know there are moreHarry PotterEaster eggs inKingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
The first collection of these involves a skeleton on a broom with a golden ball in its mouth, and a cart crashed into a tree. These, of course, are in reference to Harry catching the snitch with his mouth, and Harry and Ron crashing the Ford Anglia into the Whomping Willow. These can be found in the woods, west of the charcoal burner camp, which itself is west of Vidlak Pond on the Trosky map. Secondly, it ispossible with console commandsto teleport to the location 3053 614 50 and find all the Quidditch balls in a box, complete with a Beater’s bat and many brooms laid out for practice. This is near the Italian Court in Kuttenberg. It’s also possible to see from a distance atop the city walls without cheats.
2Knight’s Soap
Kingdom Come: Deliverance Merchandise Is In The Game
Most successful games produce their own merchandise, but few release their own soap. However, this is exactly what was sold in the wake of the firstKCDgame, and it has now made an in-game return in the sequel. Players can findKnight’s Soapafter theyarrive in Kuttenberg, via the ‘Ill Repute’ quest, as they will have an opportunity to search Bathhouse Owner Adam’s office.
It is found in a locked chest of hard difficulty. The in-game description of Knight’s Soap mentions that it is just like the soap that ‘Sir Tobias used to sell at his stall in the old days’. This is in reference to the community manager for bothKCDgames, Sir Toby. Unlike most Easter eggs, this soap has a use; being used toclean clothes at laundry spots. It’s a fancy alternative to basicSoap.
1Tis But A Scratch
A Monty Python & The Holy Grail Reference
Even before its release,Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2’shumor was compared toMonty Python and the Holy Grail, and fans will be glad to know there are a few references to the iconic medieval film. When Henry is low on health and covered in blood after a fight, passers-by will often ask him what happened. Players can choose to respond positively or negatively, and one of the random polite responses is ‘Tis but a scratch’, echoing one of the most memorable lines delivered by The Black Knight who’d just had his arm chopped off.
There is at least one more reference toMonty Pythonin the description of theSaint Antiochus' Die, as apparently it always rolls a 3, not 2, and especially not 4. 3 being the number of seconds that one should wait before throwing the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch, no more, no less. Some players have also pointed out that the level-up symbol is the same as this ‘grenade’, but both of these depict a Globus Cruciger.
