Summary

There arean incredible number of unique itemsscattered across the world ofAvowed. The Living Lands has a history reflected in not only its beautiful, enthralling sights, but also in the treasures that linger in the forgotten corners of the world. Alas, many of these corners are not as forgotten as they once were, and a good deal of useful items and unique weapons have fallen into the hands of plucky merchants who will be happy to part with them, for a price.

Players inAvowedwill soon realize that any adventuring or questing loop needs to both finish and start at the merchants' stall, whether that’s the first little cluster of vendors you meet on the outskirts of Paradis or some of the most exclusive purveyors of equipment in the entire game. For players that need to stock up on the essentials before heading out into the wilds, or for those keeping an eye on anespecially useful unique item, it can be tempting to clear out the entire inventory to get the necessary funds for these items. Before auctioning off your entire inventory, however, try selling these items whose main use is giving the player a few more Skeyts to work with.

5Unwanted Weapons

A Weapon Not Suited To Your Build Just Takes Up Space

There is plenty of room for experimentation inAvowedwhere character builds are concerned. Whether players become armor-clad warriors, cunning stealthy mages, or gun-touting spellcasters bound in an impenetrable suit of steel, the only real deciding factor for a build in this title is what weapons feel the most satisfying to the player. Any combination of steel, sorcery, and gunpowder can be paired together alongside tiers of armor and a pretty in-depth accessory system.

What this leaves behind, however, are weapons that don’t quite make the cut. Say you opt into a sword and grimoire on the main loadout, and a towering greatsword on the second loadout, that means that bows, pistols, rifles, and more atypical melee weapons like daggers have no room in the build. Rather than let these simply take up space in the inventory, selling them is a great way to make some money and put those funds towards essential items like potions, or else towards the next weapon that actually does support the build.

4Gems

These Items Exist Only To Be Sold

Within the inventory screen ofAvowed, there is an entire subsection dedicated to “money with extra steps”. The loot window in the inventory holds items whose only purpose is to be sold at a flat rate for money. These items are usually gems, found as glittering little morsels in chests or scattered along tables as ambient loot alongside foods and potions.

There’s no reason to hold onto these, as they don’t serve a purposeinAvowed’s crafting systemand really only exist to be sold. It’s best to sell them at the next merchant the player finds, and put some of those Skeyts to use buying travel essentials or saving up for the next unique item players have their eye on.

3Old Armor

Armor Can Just Take Up Space If Not Sold

Similar to weapons inAvowed, armor will fall into one of two categories as the player heads deeper into the Living Lands: armor that works for the player, and armor that doesn’t. Heavy armor is often lacking many frills, and sacrificesuseful enchantmentsfor good old-fashioned high defense. Light armor, conversely, provides little to no defense, but often comes with useful bonus effects, and beyond this, doesn’t restrict players' essence resource the same way heavier armor does.

Whether players opt for light, medium, or heavy armor - or even if they’re experimenting with the three as they play, they will find there’s plenty of armor that simply doesn’t work in their build. No hard feelings, the armor won’t mind if they’re sold off to merchants to clear up some inventory space and make some Skeyts along the way.

2Old Clothing

If These Items Aren’t Being Worn, They’re Good For Selling

Much like real life, sometimes the best thing to do with an excess of clothing is find a new owner for it all. Armor and clothingcan be transmogrifiedso it can fit any player’s aesthetic while keeping its benefits, so there’s no reason to hold onto that pair of boots simply because they’re so suave. Unlike armor and weapons, clothing can’t be upgraded, and unlike accessories, clothes often have subtler effects.

This means that if an article of clothing isn’t really clicking with the player, selling it is the best way. Some clothing with strong (but commonly found) enchantments can often sell for a decent price at vendors as well, often making it worth the player’s time to stock up on unwanted clothes.

1Upgraded Equipment

Putting Resources Into Gear Make Them More Valuable

What sells for a higher price than standard equipment? Correct - upgraded equipment. Many upgrade ingredients will be essential for upgrading weapons that are currently being used in a build, but as the upgrade tiers increase, more common materials can be put to use enhancing common gear.

There isn’t a huge increase to value on upgraded weapons and armor, but it’s still a markedly better way of making money than selling basic gear and unwanted materials separately. Some crafting materials won’t be needed at all to upgrade your preferred weapons, meaning there’s no issue in simply piling them all into one unused weapon, and cashing it in at a merchant stall.
