Shred is one of the fastest Core Skills inDiablo 4in terms of both attack speed and mobility, capable of sending Druids flying through maps while ripping everything in their path to, well, shreds. It’s a completely viable skill that goes hard, and if you’re looking to Flickerstrike your way through the endgame, you’ll need a build that can support it.
The following is a Druid Shred build that focuses on critical strikes, Lacerate, and the Malefic Crescent Unique Amulet that amplifies Werewolf crit damage significantly. The damage you’ll see from this build won’t be as great as something like theBarbarian’s HotA build forDiablo 4, but if you instead want to flood your screen with an unending stream of numbers, this build is for you.
Diablo 4 Shred Lacerate Druid Build for Season 7
This build works well for both leveling and endgame content pushing. It can go online as soon as you get a few key Legendary Aspects, and as long as you’re able to keep ramping up your damage, you should have no trouble scaling into the laterTorment levels ofDiablo 4. With this build, you’ll be enjoying unlimited Spirit with high attack speed, crit stats, and mobility, as well as low cooldowns for Lacerate, resulting in short but frequent windows of time where you can’t be hit by enemies.
Lacerate (5/5)
Supreme
Despite primarily being a Werewolf build, we’ll be using two Werebear skills specifically for triggering the passive skills. As far as general gameplay is concerned, all you need to do is hold down Shred while weaving all your other skills in between dashes to maintain health, Fortify, Barrier, and the aforementioned passive skills. However, you may want to save Lacerate for elite pack encounters, so you have a means of avoiding damage.
Passive Skills
The passives for this build are fairly straightforward — take generic damage and survivability bonuses as well as those or Werewolf and Shapeshifting skills. Make sure to invest three points in each passive (unless otherwise specified).
As for the Druid’s Spirt Boons, use the following:
Gear and Stats
This build heavily relies onattack speed and critical strikes, so you’ll want to get equipment with both of these stats as much as possible. You can use this setup in the early game with little to no trouble at all, but once you hit endgame where you canstart farming for Uniques, you’ll need as much of these as you can, preferably until you hit the caps for each.
Stormclaw’s Aspect
attempt to reach 100% Critical Strike Chance as soon as you can to consistently take advantage of Malefic Crescent, which increases the crit damage you deal with Lupine Ferocity if you hit consecutive critical strikes. There will be a lot of crit chance baked into the build via passives and Spirit Boons, so try not to overcap on Critical Strike Chance. If you can’t hit the cap just yet, try usingWaxing Gibbous. If you need more damage, a well-rolledThe Butcher’s Cleaverhas all the stats you could want for this build.
If you want to use this build for leveling, all you need is to get Blurred Beast and Unsatiated. Fill the rest of your gear slots with other Offensive Legendary Aspects.
The bestDiablo 4Runes for this build are:
Paragon Boards
Diablo 4’sParagon Board systemgives players another meaningful form of progression even after they hit the level cap. For this build, we’ll be further improving offensive and defensive stats by using the following boards, glyphs, and nodes:
Fang and Claw
Shapeshifter
Heightened Malice, Poison Resilience
The Inner Beast board is crucial for reducing Lacerate’s cooldown. If needed, you may take it after Lust for Carnage.
Season 7 Mechanics
Season of Witchcraft features Witchcraft Powers and Occult Gems, to additional sources of power for players to experiment with. These meld seamlessly into the build above, though players will have to actively participate in the season and its activities in order to unlock all the effects listed here.
