Craftsmanship is one of the many skills players can learn inKingdom Come: Deliverance 2, and it’s one of the most valuable ones to have when it comes to making or saving money. Once you learn how to craft and tend to your own gear, you’ll have a much easier time managing your finances, opening up a ton of possibilities later down the road.
Unlike other RPGs, making hundreds of iron daggers won’t be enough to improve your crafting skills here. There’s awhole smithing minigame inKCD2that prioritizes quality over quantity, which means making things will take time. There’s a way to completely circumvent this, though, leading to massive Craftsmanship XP gains over a shorter period.
Best Way to Get Craftsmanship XP in KCD2
Before we begin, it’s important to note that Craftsmanship XP is earned by crafting or maintaining equipment. This includes using smithing weapons, using repair kits, and washing clothes. The best way to get Craftsmanship XP is tobreak your weapons and sharpen them at aSharpening Wheel.
Thesharpening minigame inKCD2involves manually using a Sharpening Wheel to hone a blade’s edge. If you do it right, your weapon’s durability will improve. Do it, wrong, and your weapon will deteriorate. You can use this to your advantage by purposefully destroying your gear and fixing them back up again.
To do this, spin the Sharpening Wheel and adjust your weapon’s angleuntil it starts smoking. That means its taking damage. Once the weapon is close to breaking, sharpen it back up by adjusting the angleuntil sparks start flying. you’re able to do this with any bladed weapon like swords or axes.
The Keen Eye Method
Now, if the thought of sharpening a blade for an hour or two sounds boring to you, try the following method, though you won’t be able to do it until you reach Craftsmanship Level 10. At that point, you can purchase theKeen Eyeperk, which lets Henry earn Craftsmanship XPjust by having other smiths repair items for him. The condition of your gear will naturally deteriorate as you use them, so you might as well earn XP when you have them repaired.
If you want to use this method as your main source of Craftsmanship XP, grab all the gear you can from bandits and other enemies and just take them all back to a professional who can repair them. You’ll need to get a lot of money for this, but if you don’t mind doing a bit of crime, go to Trosky Castle after theFor Whom The Bell Tolls quest inKCD2, then have Blacksmith Osina fix your stuff. Then, you can steal all your money back by robbing his chest,which is found in the small house right next to his forge. You can reach it via the second floor of the room assigned to you by the chamberlain.
