A new report has slated that a top character from theBlack Pantherfranchise is also set to be involved in the movie, adding yet another top MCU star to the growing cast.
According to industry insiderDaniel Richtman, Marvel fans will see Shuri again inAvengers: DoomsdayandAvengers: Secret Wars.While no further information is known about how significant her role in those movies will be or if she’ll have a significant role, she is at least going to be involved.
It makes sense that Marvel Studios would want Shuri to be part of these films, given that she essentially took onthe role of Black Pantherin the previous movie. She has her own Vibranium suit and is more than capable of handling herself in a fight, so adding her to these movies is perfectly acceptable. The population of Wakanda has played important roles within the wider MCU ever since Black Panther was introduced. Therefore, it makes sense that it would continue heading into these films.
It’s unclear whether those movies will head to Wakanda or if Shuri will leave the area to help them, but her involvement is a positive sign for the films. It’s also another showcase of Marvel Studios backing her in the lead role for theBlack Pantherfranchise. There has been widespread debate over whether or notMarvel Studios is going to recast the role of T’Challain the near future and who might take on that role if they do. However, in the character of Shuri, Marvel already has someone who can carry the franchise as she’s a brilliant hero who offers something different to the rest of the MCU.
Having her appear alongside some of the biggest characters within the MCU will only help establish Shuri further in the eyes of the moviegoers. She’s a confident character who can hold her own and often brings a lot of charm and energy to her scenes. That’s something that could be a lot of fun to seewithin anAvengersmovieand would allow her to rub shoulders with some fresh characters. On top of that, Shuri is one of the smartest characters in the franchise, and it could be that side of her character that is being tapped into forAvengers: Doomsday.
