AlthoughBlizzard skipped holding BlizzCon in 2024and 2025 due to ongoing game development taking priority, fans of the beloved convention will soon have cause to celebrate.Blizzard confirmedthat BlizzCon will return on September 12 and 13, 2026, at the Anaheim Convention Center in southern California. In a departure from previous BlizzCons, the 2026 convention will be held in September for the first time, as past in-person events happened in August, October, or November.

When Is BlizzCon Coming Back?

Blizzard shared the news with a short announcement trailer on social media. The trailer started with a frozen bed of ice that was struck by lightning from a swirling storm, reminiscent of the introduction trailer fromWorld of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King. The ice then formed the BlizzCon logo in the middle of the frozen waters, and the trailer ended with confirmation of when and where BlizzCon 2026 will happen.

While BlizzCon will not be held for over a year from the time of writing, fans will have smaller events in 2025. As part of the 30th anniversary of theWarcraftfranchise,Blizzard will hold sixWarcraft-themed eventsacross the globe through the first half of 2025. The firstWarcraftWorld Tour events were held in London and Seoul on February 22 and March 8, and a Toronto gathering is coming up on March 15.
