Black Ops 6 Players Report PS5 FPS Drops After New Update

Ever sinceCall of Duty’s big Season 2 Reloaded updatewas released, numerous posts have begun appearing on social media, with players reporting a serious issue on PlayStation 5. While there has been no word from Treyarch Studios on the matter, players are claiming that the game’s mid-season update is causing some severe frame drops on the console, with one user stating that almost “every game” has stuttering frames, while another user said the FPS drops are “horrid.” In response, Reddit userManeii99said they are experiencing a similar problem on the PS5 Pro, specifically onBlack Ops 6’s newest map, Grind. There seems to be various users claiming the remasteredBlack Ops 2map is the culprit, but some say it’s happening on every map in the game.

Sadly, this isn’t the only issue caused by the game’s mid-season update. Shortly after Season 2 Reloaded was released, Treyarch Studios dropped yetanotherCall of Dutyupdatethat aimed to address some of the main problems caused by the previous patch. Activision had already confirmed that the fan-favorite map would be returning in Spring 2025 but has yet to announce an exact release date. While various insiders have claimed it would be returning with Season 3 in March, those rumors now seem to be increasingly likely with the map officially being added to the game’s files.
