ModdingCivilization 7is surprisingly simple, and despite being the newest entry in the long-running Grand Strategy franchise, the modding community has already produced somevery useful addons forCiv 7.

From UI overhauls to new features,Civ 7mods can change just about any aspect of the game – though relatively limited at launch, the number of mods available for the game will surely increase over time.

Civilization 7 launches with mixed reviews.

Whether you want to unlock new Map Types (and even an Earth map), improve the game’s visuals and information readability, andotherwise enhance theCiv 7experienceand UI, these bestCiv 7mods are a great place to start.

5Automatically Repeat A Project

Less Micromanagement For Cities

Many of the bestCiv 7mods created in the early days of the game’s launch focus on improving its overall user experience. UI updates, easier menus to navigate, and simple quality-of-life fixes can completely change how the game feels, and smoothen out some mechanics that can be frustrating.

Civmod creator koreyama creates many of these QoL fixes forCiv 7, and one of the most useful (but niche) mods lets you automatically repeat projects in Cities. If youneed to rush a Techor Civic, and want your Cities to focus exclusively on generating the appropriate Yields, this mod will automatically re-apply the Project over and over again.

It’s a simple quality-of-life fix, but a much-needed one forCiv 7that makes a minor mechanic much less annoying.

4Compact Production Chooser

See More Production Options In City Menus

The Compact Production Chooser addon is one of the bestCiv 7UI mods for players who think the game’s UI has far too much empty space. With this mod, created byCiv 7mod creator MantisMaestro, City Production menus have significantly less empty space, allowing you to see more options at a glance without scrolling.

This mod simply moves the yield/bonus for each option to the right of its name, and shrinks each icon, to raise the number of displayed options from around eight to around 12. It’s a small change, but a necessary one thatimproves the game’s use of space.

3Auto Repair

Passively Repair Damaged Tiles In Cities

Another QoL mod made byCivmod creator koreyama is the Auto Repair addon.Civ 7’s UI makes repairing tiles a bit of a pain, but with this mod, your City will automatically repair broken tiles at the start of each turn – if yourempire has enough Gold.

According to the mod creator, the mod will automatically recognize if the City does not have enough Gold to initiate a Repair. Repairs will be carried out as long as you have the Gold to fund them, completely overhauling this important, but confusing, mechanic.

Cviilization VII Best Mods Addons Civ 7 Mod List YnAMP Yet Not Another Map Pack

2Yet (not) Another Map Pack (YnAMP)

More Map Types For Civ 7, Including Earth & Massve Maps

One of the most popularCiv 6mods, now brought toCiv 7, is YnAMP. Yet not Another Map Pack addsa number of map features toCiv 7that were present in previous games in the series, like Large and Huge map sizes, a Greatest Earth true start map, a better Continents+ script, and more.

There’s even a Ludicrous map size, which isn’t actually playable, but makes the world 230 tiles wide.

BecauseCiv 7was missing many of these map types on launch, some of the maps don’t work quite correctly except under certain conditions. For example, the Massive and larger map sizes work best with the new Continents+ script, while the Giant Earth map isn’t playable on anything except Giant size.

If you want to pushCiv 7map generation to its absolute limits, be sure to install this mod – and remember to check the mod description to avoid possible glitches with larger map sizes.

1Sukitract’s Simple UI Adjustments

UI Fixes So Good That Firaxis Itself Incorporated Them Into Civ 7

Arguably the most necessary and most popular mod forCiv 7is Sukitract’s Simple UI Adjustments. This mod adds a huge number of visual and UI improvements to the game that vastly improve the user experience and amount of information presented on-screen.

In fact, it’s such an improvement over the game that Firaxis collaborated with Sukitract toimplement some of the mod’s changes into the base game. In the May 23, 2025 patch, Firaxis specifically called out Sukitract for inspiring the addition of Building icons to tooltips and improvements to how Resources and Yields are displayed.

The Simple UI Adjustments mod adds much more than these improvements, though. It enhances tooltips, improves the display of yields and improvements, grants Wonders an icon with a description, and more description for Buildings.

As the mod develops, more UI changes forCiv 7are likely to come, so be sure to check regularly and see if there’s a new version with new UI improvements regularly.
