To get aScientific VictoryinCivilization 7,players need to do everything they canto progress through the tech tree and build high production in their Cities. This is because, to win a Science Victory,Civ 7players must essentially complete four major City Projects after reaching close to the end of the Tech tree.
There are four steps to theCiv 7Science Victory: Trans-Atlantic Flight, Break The Sound Barrier, Launch Satellite, and finally the capstone requirement to complete the First Staffed Space Flight project. Follow this guide to understand how to get a Science Victory inCiv 7andget some tips on what you can doto reach a Science Victory faster.
Science Victory Milestone One: Trans-Atlantic Flight
The first milestone in the Scientific Legacy Path in the Modern Age, and the first of three Space Race ProjectsCiv 7players must complete, is the Trans-Atlantic Flight. To begin this special City Project, you must first research the Flight Technology, then build an Aerodrome in a city.
Flight is in the second half ofthe Modern Age Technology Tree, so you’ll need to focus on Science very heavily if you want to rush the Science Victory.Civ 7players should ensure they achieve both the Antiquity Age and Exploration Age Science Legacy Paths to build as much Science as possible throughout the game in preparation for the final push in Modern.
After you research Flight, you will unlock the ability to create an Aerodrome in a City. This unique District takes up both building slots, but allows you to spawn Aircraft units – and begin the Trans-Atlantic Flight project in that city.
Focus on Production (or Gold) to be able to build an Aerodrome faster and complete each of the four required Science Victory requirements inCiv 7.
The unique Project will automatically grant you the first Science Legacy Path milestone and set the stage for the next step.
Science Victory Milestone Two: Break The Sound Barrier
After you complete the first Trans-Atlantic Flight project, the next Science Legacy Pathmilestone in the Modern Ageis unlocked after you Break The Sound Barrier. This unique City Projectrequires an Aerodrome, just like the first Science Victory step. Youalso need to research Aerodynamics.
Aerodynamics is found just a few steps ahead of Flight on the Tech tree – and requires far fewer other Techs to be researched to unlock. Focus on Science after you complete the Trans-Atlantic Flight project and you’ll sail through this second step.
Once you get Aerodynamics, begin the Break The Sound Barrier project in the with an Aerodrome, and after a few turns you’ll be all set for the final requirement of Modern Age Science Victory progression.
Science Victory Milestone Three: Launch A Satellite
The last of the three Space Race projects you must complete to unlock the lastCiv 7Science Victory condition is the Launch A Satellite project. This unique City Projectrequires the Rocketry Technology to be researched– the second-to-last Technology in the Modern Age tree, just before Future Tech.
Pump up your Science as high as possible to rush to this Tech, which will unlock the ability tocreate a Launch Pad in a City. Build the Launch Pad districtin your most productive City, thenstart the Launch A Satellite project.
After a few turns, you will finish the Science Legacy Path in the Modern Age, and unlock the final requirement to get a Science Victory inCiv 7: the First Staffed Space Flight.
Final Civ 7 Science Victory Condition: First Staffed Space Flight
To launch the First Staffed Space Flight, you must have completed the entire Science Legacy Path for the Modern Age. By doing this, you will already have fulfilled the Staffed Space Flight requirements tohave the Rocketry Technology and a Launch Pad in a city, too.
The final Science Victory condition is remarkably simple to reach.Simply start the First Staffed Space Flight in your City with a Launch Pad, and once it is completed, you willachieve a Science Victory inCiv 7!
If you rush Science and push for higher Technology in the Modern Age, you will likely be able to unlock a Science Victorybefore the Age has progressed even halfway. It’s one of the simplest Victories to get in the Modern Age because of how easy each City Project is to complete, compared to the relatively complex requirements of otherCiv 7VIctories.
