The Polish developerCD Projekt Redhas been busy with a lot of projects lately. Not only is the company making multipleWitchergames, includingThe Witcher 4, it is also working on a sequel toCyberpunk 2077under the codename Project Orion. For those who are out of the loop, Project Orion was originally announced in late 2022, just two years after the launch ofCyberpunk 2077. At the time, the confirmation of a sequel so shortly after the sci-fi RPG’s debut was surprising to some fans, given thatCyberpunk 2077had a notoriously disastrous launch and still wasn’t in great shape in 2022. Since the game sold incredibly well, though,CD Projekt Redwas probably confident enough in greenlighting a sequel.

It’s not exactly clear if Project Orion will be a direct sequel toCyberpunk 2077, or if it will take place inan entirely different location beyond Night Cityand feature a new cast of characters. Even if Project Orion has little in common withCyberpunk 2077from a narrative standpoint, though, there is a very strong possibility that the game will have tons of Easter eggs, just like most of CD Projekt Red’s past releases. If that indeed happens, then hopefully CD Projekt Red will pay tribute to the recently-releasedKingdom Come: Deliverance 2in Project Orion.

CD Projekt Red Should Add a Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Easter Egg to Project Orion

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Has a Cyberpunk 2077 Easter Egg

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2andCyberpunk 2077may both be RPGs, but they are distinct from each other in almost every way. One game is, after all, a sci-fi FPS set in a dystopian, hypercapitalist city, and the other is a realistic historical RPG that takes place in 15th century medieval Bohemia. In spite of the differences in setting, Warhorse Studios, the company behindKingdom Come: Deliverance 2, managed to find a way to add aCyberpunk 2077Easter egg to its game without making it feel too out of place.

In Kuttenberg, the second major region inKingdom Come: Deliverance 2, players can start a side quest called Ars Dimicatoria, which can be obtained from Menhard von Frankfurt. Upon completing this quest, players can enter the Kuttenberg Tournament, where they can face off against other participants in three duels, each of which involves different weapons. One of the characters that players can face off against in this tournament is, interestingly enough, called Johann Silverfist. This NPC’s name is an obvious nod to one ofCyberpunk 2077’s major characters, the rockerboy-turned-terrorist Johnny Silverhand.

A Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Easter Egg in Project Orion Would Make Sense

Since Warhorse Studios added aCyberpunk 2077reference to its own game, it would be great if CD Projekt Red responded in kind by adding aKingdom Come: Deliverance 2reference toCyberpunk 2077’s upcoming sequel. There are a lot of ways the company can go about doing this, such as by including an NPC named afterKingdom Come: Deliverance 2’s main character, Henry of Skalitz, in Project Orion, or referencing the catchphrase used by Henry and his ally, Sir Hans, “Audentes fortuna iuvat!”, somewhere in the game.

“Audentes fortuna iuvat!” means “Fortune favors the brave!” in Latin.

It isn’t that hard to imagine CD Projekt Red adding aKingdom Come: Deliverance 2Easter egg toCyberpunk 2077’s upcoming sequel, because the originalCyberpunk 2077already has tons of pop culture references. When exploring Night City, players can come across Easter eggs that pay homage to all kinds of iconic franchises, fromGhost in the Shell,Fallout, andDemolition MantoGrand Theft Auto,Dirty Harry, and evenDeath Stranding. Taking this into account, aKingdom Come: Deliverance 2Easter egg wouldn’t feel out of place at all in Project Orion, and it would instead be a great way forCD Projekt Redto return the favor to Warhorse Studios.
