Summary
Days Gone Remasteredhas successfully broken into the top 10 best-selling pre-order titles on the PlayStation Store. This development comes just days after Bend Studio’sDays Gone Remasteredwas announced during the State of Play livestream on July 19, 2025.
For quite a long time,Days Gonefans have been asking PlayStation to have another go at the post-apocalyptic IP, which experienced a mixed launch reception. More specifically, they have been persuading the Japanese gaming giant to revive the canceled plans for aDays Gonesequel. While an actual follow-up to the first game may be a pipe dream right now, PlayStation have given some sort of relief to the action-adventure title’s fans by revealing a remaster of the 2019 original. Headed by the American studio that created the IP,Days Gone Remasteredis set to bring upgraded visuals, support for DualSense haptics, and more features when it rolls out on Jun 29, 2025, on PS5 and PC. And, it appears that the forthcoming game is off to a promising start judging by one Bend Studio dev’s findings.
On Twitter, Bend Studio Creative & Product Lead Kevin McAllister shared thatDays Gone Remasteredhad made it into the list of best-selling games available for pre-order on the PS Store. The screen capture shared in the post, which is presumably from the US version of the storefront, shows the first-party PlayStation game sitting at the seventh spot in the rankings (after counting different editions of the same game only once). BesidesDays Gone Remastered, the top 10 entries also include certain AAA behemoths, such asMonster Hunter Wilds,Assassin’s Creed Shadows, andWWE 2K25. Interestingly, while an overwhelming majority of thesebest-selling pre-order games are scheduled to arrive in February or March, onlyDays Gone RemasteredandElden Ring: Nightreignfrom the top 10 are more than two months away from release, making their appearance on the list even more impressive.
Days Gone Remastered Pre-Orders Look Encouraging Despite Criticism
On one hand, the reveal ofDays Gone Remasteredbrought some positive news for fans of the IP, whereas on the other hand, it added to the list of remasters that certain gamers consider unnecessary. There were unavoidable comparisons of the remaster’s visuals with those of the original, which some fans felt were too minute to warrant the need for a remaster. Moreover, some players also criticized PlayStation for not offering the $10 upgrade to the remastered version for thosewho claimedDays Goneas part of their PS Plus benefits.
Amid such criticisms, the emergence ofDays Gone Remasteredamong the top 10 best-selling pre-order titles on PlayStation is certainly a useful boost. It underlines that, despite some negative feedback after the game’s announcement, enough players may still be interested in playing therevampedDays Gonetitlewhen it hits the stores in a few months' time.
