In a video addressing fans, Behaviour Interactive outlined the next steps the studio is taking to implement necessary quality-of-life features. Unfortunately for players, this means the upcoming content will be delayed by three weeks, starting with the PTB, which was supposed to be released on February 18. This decision also impacts other releases and events, as Behaviour needs time to let the team deal with importantDead by Daylightissues.
According to the developer, the issues it’s tackling include “long-standing player pain points,” improving existing systems, and fixing critical bugs. The updates will be rolled out in two phases, starting with some improvements that will hit the game on April 2. The Phase 1 update will focus on fixing the slugging issue by introducing a surrender option, along with another solution tied to the Chaos Shuffle iteration, though the developer hasn’t provided further details. Additionally, Behaviour is tackling the “go next” issue—where survivors troll the game in certain ways—by applying a new system that will make detecting this behavior easier.
Moreover, a new quest system, a feature to previewDead by Daylightperksin the lobby, improved AFK detection, a button to spend Bloodpoints in bulk, and more will be added in Phase 1. As for Phase 2, which will run from July to December, the developer hasn’t shared many details, though it will continue focusing on similar aspects along with balance adjustments.
