Disney Dreamlight Valley’s ‘A Sandy Competition’ quest brings Dreamers another step closer to unlocking the mysteries of the Secret Journal. ‘A Sandy Competition’ is Jasmine’s Level 4 Friendship Quest, where you can participate in a friendly Sandcastle competition, plus craft some unusual and magical items. Of course, there are many materials to gather from around the Valley to make everything you need, plus two otherDisney Dreamlight Valleycharactersto interact with to complete the quest.
There are also various steps to complete in ‘A Sandy Competition’ if you want to work towards solving Jasmine’s ongoing mystery and reveal more of the game’s lore.
How to Start A Sandy Competition in Disney Dreamlight Valley
To start the ‘A Sandy Competition’ inDisney Dreamlight Valley, you must reachLevel 4 Friendship with Jasmineafter completing’The Enchanted Flower’quest.Additionally, you must also tick off the following requirements to start ‘A Sandy Competition’:
Providing you’ve done the above and reached Level 4 Friendship with Jasmine, you can choose the ‘A Sandy Competition’ dialogue option when speaking with her to get started.
Disney Dreamlight Valley ‘A Sandy Competition’ Walkthrough
‘A Sandy Competition’ begins with you talking to Jasmine about the mysterious, locked Secret Journal that appeared within the Enchanted Flower’s petals in ‘The Enchanted Flower.’ However, Jasmine thinks you can unlock it with Moana’s help.
Talk to Moana and Gather Materials for Moana’s Sea Sand Torch
The first step in ‘A Sandy Competition’ is totalk to Moana, who tells you all about gatheringSea Sand Sparks. However, to collect the Sparks, you’ll need togather the following materialsto make Moana’s Sea Sand Torch:
Once you’ve gathered all the materials, give them to Moana, who gives you the Sea Sand Torch in return.
Place Moana’s Sea Sand Torch on Dazzle Beach, Then Talk to Jasmine and Maui
Afterward,head to Dazzle Beachandplace the Sea Sand Torch in your preferred spotby selecting and positioning itusing the Furniture Menu. Once you’ve placed it, talk to Jasmine and meet her at Dazzle Beach to gather the Sparks together. However, Jasmine tells you that this is only the first step towards opening the Secret Journal, adding that you also need aSpecial Starfish. She suggests talking to Maui to see if he knows anything about it.
Talk to Mauiabout the Starfish, who says he’ll give it to you if you beat him in a competition.Talk to Jasmine again, and choose any dialogue option you prefer to agree to a Sandcastle Competition. After speaking,follow Jasmineandwatch her conversation with Mauiabout the competition. It’s time to get ready to compete!
Gather Materials To Build a Winning Sandcastle for Maui’s Competition
Next up in ‘A Sandy Competition’ is to gather the following materials to make a winning Sandcastle for the competition:
x50 Sand
x14Clay
Found bydiggingin theGlade of Trust,Sunlit Plateau, or theForgotten Lands.
x7 Seaweed
Found byfishing outside of circlesin bodies of water in most biomes in Dreamlight Valley or Eternity Isle, plus by foraging atDazzle Beach.
After gathering everything above, head to acrafting stationto make the following items for the Sandcastle:
Decorate the Beach With the Sandcastle and See Who Wins the Competition
Afterspeaking with Jasmine again, head toDazzle Beachandbuild the Sandcastleusing the Sand walls, towers, and door in yourFurniture Menu. you may make the Sandcastle in any way you like, as a miniature version of the Agrabah’s Palace. Of course, you can place the Sand towers in the corners so they line up with the walls, as per a traditional Sandcastle, as pictured above.
When you’ve finished building the Sandcastle,speak with Mauiabout what you made and thenlisten to Jasmine and Maui chatting- it turns out he had a bit of trouble putting his Sandcastle together, so he gives you the Starfish as the clear victor.
Craft the Beach Key and Unlock the First Lock of the Secret Journal
Talk to Jasmine again, who says you’ll need to use the Sea Sand Sparks and the Starfish tomake the Beach Keyatany crafting station. Fortunately, this isn’t tricky and meansanother trip to a crafting station to craft the Beach Key.
It’s now time togo inside Aladdin and Jasmine’s houseto get one step closer to solving the mystery of the Secret Journal. Once inside the house, use the Beach Key to open the first lock on the Secret Journal byinteracting with the Enchanted Flowerandselecting the Beach Key from your inventory. Afterward,talk to Jasmine for a final timeto learn more about the Journal and complete ‘A Sandy Competition.’ Of course, the mystery continues, and you’ll have to complete Jasmine’s Level 7 Friendship quest called ‘Hot and Cold’ to open the Journal fully and reveal its secrets.
