The Evil Third Eye was first mentioned inDragon Ball Daimaepisode 1, “Conspiracy”, when King Gomah and Degesu discussed what they planned to do with their three wishes from Earth’s Dragon Balls. After turning Goku and all his friends into children and babies, Gomah’s second wish was supposed to be to obtain the Evil Third Eye, which, fortunately, didn’t happen. In a weird twist of fate, Shenronrevealed that he only granted three wishes to “repeat customers”, and since this was Gomah’s first time summoning him, he only granted him his first wish. However, he finally managed to get his hands on itin episode 16 “Degesu”.

The Supreme Demon King’s Most Prized Artifact

The One Eye To Rule Them All

Also known as the legendary tertian oculus, the Evil Third Eye is an artifact that grants its user enhanced strength, mass, and magical power. To use it, it just needs to be placed on the forehead of its intended user. However, there might be a condition that someone else has to place it on their forehead since Gomah required theassistance of a Majinwoman instead of putting it on his own forehead. Other than possibly requiring someone else though, the process is as simple as that. The user will then experience a boost in power and gain a larger body.

It should be mentioned that while the Evil Third Eye is said to grant its user immense “magical power”, it might just mean that they can fire strong magical beams in combat like howZ Fighters use Ki. It doesn’t seem to give Gomah access to unique magic spells, at least so far. Perhaps future episodes will prove otherwise because, right now, the amped-up Gomah isn’t doing anything particularly special with magic.

“The Third Eye, also known as the Tertian Oculus. It’s an eye previous Supreme Demon Kings have worn on their foreheads, which grants them power and authority. It is a symbol of the Supreme Demon King and possesses terrifying magic power.” - Dragon Ball Daima Narrator

The Evil Third Eye is so valuable, that when Gomah realized Earth’s Dragon Balls could only grant him one wish, he regretted his decision toturn Goku and the others youngfirst. He would rather have the power of the Evil Third Eye than weaken the warriors who defeated Majin Buu, implying that the Evil Third Eye could more than supplement his power against them.

How Strong Does The Evil Third Eye Make Gomah?

It’s hard to gauge Gomah’s power before receiving the Evil Third Eye since he’s never been seen fighting before. All that’s known is that heisstrong, butnot enough to beat the Tamagamior Dabura. However, the power the eye grants is strong enough to make Gomah into a being that can fight Goku, Piccolo, Vegeta, Glorio, Shin, Majin Kuu, Majin Duu, and Tamagami Number One all at the same time.

Dragon Ball Daimaepisode 17, “Gomah”, showed Gomah blocking energy waves fired at him from all eight warriors in unison, and he wasn’t even really struggling to do it. This should, at the very least, make him far stronger than Majin Buu, who was the strongest villain Goku and the others ever faced beforeDaima. How the Z Fighters will be able to beat him, well, only time will tell.

How Did The Evil Third Eye End Up In Hybis' Hands?

Well, Hybis' Belt To Be Exact

Before King Gomah, the previous owner of the Evil Third Eye wasthe past Demon KingAbura, father of Dabura. In a plan to usurp his father as the Supreme Demon King, Dabura ordered an unnamed thief to steal it and hide it away in the Third Demon World for him to collect later. The thief successfully stole the Evil Third Eye and managed to flee tothe Third Demon World. Unfortunately, once there, a random violent bandit or barbarian attacked Dabura’s thief, causing him to drop the Evil Third Eye into a ditch and completely lose it, much to Dabura’s dismay. However, Abura losing access to the Evil Third Eye was enough to weaken him to the point that Dabura could overthrow him.

As for the eye, it was picked up at random by Hybis, who was seemingly outhunting in the areawhere the eye was dropped. He found it interesting even though he had no idea what it actually was and stuck it onto his belt buckle. Yes, there is no deeper meaning to Hybis having an eye, which is what some viewers have speculated ever since Hybis showed it off early in the series. It’s a little disappointing, but at the same time, it fits perfectly with Dragon Ball Daima’s more goofy theme.
