While his debut inDragon Ball GTdoesn’t occur untilEpisode 57, “The One-Star Dragon”, the threat of the shadow dragons looms after the Black Smoke Dragon consumes the corrupted dragon balls, separating them into the seven shadow dragons. Of the evil dragons birthed by this event, none compare in strength to Syn Shenron. With a merciless nature and a lust for destruction, Syn Shenron makes it clear that his ambition for domination will not be stopped, regardless of who gets in his way, as evident by his slaying of Nuova Shenron.
Despite harnessing a power great enough to match that of GokThu at full power, Syn Shenron is not satisfied with the knowledge that he can become even stronger. Swallowing the seven corrupted dragon balls, Syn Shenron transforms into Omega Shenron,the ultimate dragon ofDragon Ball GT. Although his appearance doesn’t change much, save for the corrupted dragon balls protruding from his chest and abdomen, Omega Shenron is far superior in this form and poses as the greatest threat to Goku.

Even His Syn Shenron Form is Terrifying
In his original form, Syn Shenron was capable of vaporizing a fellow shadow dragon with just blasts, the same dragon that wasgiving Goku a run for his money. His overwhelming size and strength is enough to intimidate the strongest fighter, but it’s not the only thing Omega Shenron has going for him. Possessing a cunning battle intellect, Omega Shenron mixes his size and brute strength with an awareness that is unmatched, making him hard to catch and harder to get up from when he strikes.
Unfortunately for those looking to protect the world, his final form of Omega Shenron turns everything up tenfold. With the power of the corrupted dragon balls inside his vessel, Omega Shenron gains a nearly invincible body and a power that feels almost limitless. It’s enough topush Goku to the brinkand give him a sense of hopelessness, an accomplishment that not many villains have reached during their battles with the greatest Saiyan warrior.

Falling Short Despite Showing Promise
Despite matching the power of both Super Saiyan 4 Goku and Vegeta, destroying a shadow dragon with two attacks, and bringing the Earth to its knees, Omega Shenron still had his limits. While he put of a fight to the very end, he was simply no match forSuper Saiyan 4 Gogeta— the fusion between Goku and Vegeta while in their Super Saiyan 4 form. Not only was Omega Shenron outclassed by the fusion fighter, he was embarrassed to the point of desperation.
In his fit of rage, Omega Shenron had grown careless, allowing his heightened emotional state to become distracted with Vegeta and the many Z Fighters taking him on. While toying with the surplus of fighters engaging in battle, Goku was left to his own to build up the ultimate Spirit Bomb by gathering the energy from several universes. Omega Shenron had the ability to regenerate, but the massive power and force of theSpirit Bombwas enough to vaporize Omega Shenron to beyond the point of his regeneration. Yet another tale of an almighty powerful force succumbing to the bond of resilient fighters putting their lives on the line to save Earth.
