In the span of just a few episodes, some of the most important and groundbreaking reveals regarding the power hierarchy of the franchise going forward were made.

After all of this, only one more episode is yet to air at the time of writing, which has all the makings to beDragon Ball Daima’sbest one yet. A Whole New Method Of Fusion Revealed

How Will The Join Bugs Work?

When Goku first encountered the Join Bugs in the Third Demon World, everyone was sure that the heroes were going to fuse by the time the series ended. However, such a fusion hasn’t occurred yet, which could either mean that the finale of the series willlikely have Goku and Vegeta fuse, the fusion will be between two other characters, or that there will be no fusion at all, and that the reveal of the Join Bugs was a red herring to distract from the prospect of Super Saiyan 4’s canon reveal.

However, most fans are convinced that there will most likely be a fusion at the end, particularly between Goku and Vegeta. But how exactly would such a fusion look? A commonly held belief is that the resulting warrior born from such a union would be Vegito, since the only other time he is formed is with the Potara Earrings, which seem to work almost identically to the Join Bugs.

This would make sense and may even act as an alternate version of manifesting Vegito without the limitations that the Potara Earrings pose. The biggest of these limitations is the fact that if the power output of the fusion is too high, the constituents will defuse since the earrings cannot handle too much power. By introducing a superior, alternate method of forming Vegito, Goku and Vegeta will now be able to usethe full power of the fusionwithout the limitations they had before.

Conversely, another section of the fan base seems to believe that the resulting fusion that awaits the heroes at the end ofDaimawill be Gogeta, especially considering how Goku has just awakened his Super Saiyan 4 state. This has prompted some fans to think that the series is preparing everyone for the long-awaited return of the fan-favorite fusion; Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta.

Our strengths aren’t just added together, they’re significantly magnified!

However, the evidence for Gogeta being the resulting fusion at the end ofDaimais incredibly minimal, even less so than it being Vegito. For starters, Vegeta hasn’t even unlocked Super Saiyan 4 yet and is unlikely to do so at all, so Gogeta wouldn’t even beable to turn into a Super Saiyan 4, which brings the already minimal likelihood down even more.

The most probable answer, however, is that the resulting fusion birthed from the Join Bugs will create a brand-new fusion altogether that fans have never seen before. This is because the Demon Realm seems to work around a set of rules that are entirely different from those in the surface world, so the properties of fusion would likely also fit into that category. Anything else regarding how this warrior would look, his move set, and his personality is pure speculation at this point and fans just have to wait and see what the finale has in store for them.

At this point in the story, it’s impossible to know if the finale will feature a fusion between Goku and Vegeta as the odds of this happening are honestly 50/50. Many argue that the entire point ofshowing the Join Bugs as a narrative deviceat all and seeing Goku keep them in his pouch serves as a way to ensure their use later in the story. If they were never to be used again, why introduce them into the story at all?

On the other hand, some believe that the Join Bugs are simply a narrative device and nothing more, and that showing a fusion for only one episode wouldn’t make much sense. While it would definitely be an incredible thing to witness, it may even lessen the overall impact of Super Saiyan 4, since the form was introduced as the ultimate power that a Saiyan can achieve. So, for it to be overshadowed by the fusion would also be just as strange.
