Monster Hunter Wildsfeatures 14 different weapons. Each of them has their own playstyles, and some can be harder to use than others. The Bow is a simple weapon to start using and nowhere near as tricky to master as some of the other options.
Players will also start the game as Low Rank and need to progress through the story and its various monster hunts to reach High Rank later on. There are some great build options for players to make use of to come out on top of hunts and have all the materials they need once they hit High Rank. Should they find this too overwhelming, they can take a step back andgo back to Low Rank.
Best Early Game Bow Build for Monster Hunter Wilds
Players willstart the game in the Windward Plains area. This will mean players will only have access to a small handful of monsters, and no Talismans of any kind. Players are going to need to put together the right loadout as they work their way through this area. The player’s first monster may be theChatacabra, but the second beast they will cross paths with will be the far more deadlyQuematrice.
This monster will give Bow players their first taste of elemental weapons, but also have them askinghow weapon Affinity works. This Bow features a coating that can exhaust targets, then apply its other coating to deal additional damage at close range. This makes it the best bow for anything that isn’t resistant to fire — with a lot of upcoming monsters taking some damage from this elemental type.
SometimesSkills can be more significant than raw numbers.
While theQuematrice may provide players with a great early bow, they should first focus on getting some armor to take less damage as they farm this monster for more materials. This is because some of the early armor they will be going for is also from this monster — three to be precise.
Hope Bow II offers players slightly extends the range at which their arrows hit at maximum power.
Players whouse the Bow to its full potentialwill generally keep some distance from their foes and be able to get out of trouble. However, they should still keep track of their defense and protective skills for the times they find themselves needing to make a quick escape. While theBone set offers Marathon Runner, players can use their Charging Sidestep to reposition without the need for sprinting away. Players should first get the Coil and Mail for Fire Resistance LV2, and then the rest for Flinch Free Lv3.

Each Piece of this Armor also has +2 Fire Resistance, -3 Water Resistance, 0 Thunder Resistance, -1 Ice Resistance, and 0 Dragon Resistance.
This leads to total values of 10, -15, 0, -5, and 0, respectively. The Focus Skill will also come into play every time players charge an arrow while theyaim through Focus Mode. These faster refills mean it’s easier to get coatings on their arrows for maximum exhaustion, followed by replacing them with close-range coating despite how many arrows still have an existing coating on them.
Best Early Game Low Rank Bow Build for Monster Hunter Wilds
Players can replace their Braces, Coil and Greaves withBalaharaparts for theEvade Extender Skillonce this monster is available. The next Bow to aim for will come from targeting theCongalalafor materials, which offers a wide range of coatings to choose from. Players will want to change their armor and weapons going forward based on what monsters they face. Use theUth Khviluk Ifor enemies weak to water elemental,Quematrice Acro IIBow for those weak to fire, and so forth. Players that want to keep their Flinch Free at LV3 can use theImpact Charm Talismanwith just 2 of theQuematricearmor pieces.

Evade Extender
By the time players are nearing High Rank, they will face off against large monsters that can strike away almost all of their health with special attacks. Players will want gear that offers the highest resistance while maintaining their distance from physical ones. This gives them space to heal up should they get hit.
Make Loadouts in your tent for each elemental type. Don’t forget to make use of Talismans that can raise resistances.
