eBay has launched a newPokemonpromotion in the form of an Eevee-inspired Evolving Shop. The curated shopping experience providesPokemonfans with opportunities to stock up on a variety of merch and bid for some exceedingly rare Eevee cards, but only if they act fast.
Back in early January, The Pokemon Company declared 2025 the Year of Eevee. A few weeks later, the group released theincredibly popular Prismatic Evolutions set forPokemon TCG, in addition to promising that even more Eevee-themed products and initiatives will follow shortly.
One such project has now been announced in the form of theeBay Evolving Shop. The newly launched initiative is described as a curated shopping experience geared toward commemorating the Year of Eevee. Over the course of the next few days, fans will get a chance to bid on some rare andvaluablePokemon TCGcardsfeaturing Eevee and all of its eight evolutions. This group will include the 2021 SWSH Evolving Skies Secret Full Art Umbreon VMAX (PSA 10) and the Eevee 500 Pt. Fan Club Japanese Holo Promo #133 (Gem Mint PSA 10), which are currently valued at approximately $2,400 and $10,000, respectively.
eBay Pokemon Evolving Shop Overview
New drops will appear in the Evolving Shop every day at 6am PT / 9am ET until February 27. Once they go live, fans will have a 24-hour window to place their offers, with bidding starting at 9 cents. In addition to trading cards, the curated shopping experience will feature a variety ofPokemonmerchandise—also largely inspired by Eevee. Squishmallow plushies, Funko Pop figures, backpacks, watches, and posters are among the products either available now or arriving in the next two days.
eBay Live Hosting Vintage Pokemon Box Breaks Until Early March 2025
Launching in parallel with the Evolving Shop are vintage Pokemon box breaks, which are currently being hosted oneBay Live. This increasingly popular shopping format involves streamers opening classicPokemon TCGbooster boxes and distributing the contents to participants who purchased a share of the break. eBay Live is also presently hosting $1-start auctions and somePokemon-related appearances. The livestream shopping platform will remain focused onPokemoncontent until March 2.
The Year of Eevee was initially off to a rough start due to thewidespread Prismatic Evolutions shortages that frustrated manyPokemon TCGfans. While supply remains slim, it would appear that the worst of it is over as of late February 2025, at least as far as the first wave of Prismatic Evolutions products is concerned.
