Totems are a unique way to change up your gameplay or add new buffs to your build in Avowed. However, to get this gameplay mechanic, you’ll have to complete the God Totem quests that are unique to each major region. The quest for the Emerald Stair region is calledthe Totem of Defiance, and the Effigy Necklace is one of the required totem fragments in this. Let’s check out how players can find this totem fragment in the region.
Where to Find the Effigy Necklace Totem Fragment in Avowed
Players can find the Effigy Necklace Totem Fragment insidethe Naku Tedek Groundsin the Emerald Stair region ofAvowed. It’s a prominent location that you’ll be visiting duringthe Ancient Soil main quest. It’s located just west of Maxim’s Claim and southwest of Fior Mes Iverno.
Once players reach Naku Tedek, simply enter the main building to start looking for the totem fragment inside. After entering the Naku Tedek Grounds, simply follow the hallway leading to a dark pit with broken spiral stairs on its sides.Carefully descend the pitusing the spiral stairs, as falling from height might fatally damage your character.
Effigy Necklace Location Within Naku Tedek Grounds
Once you’re at the bottom, there are two paths leading both left and right. You’ll need to take the pathway on the left, and you’ll come across alocked door with an Essence Generatoron its side. Either use an Electric Lilly SeedElectric Lily Seedor a spell to power the Essence Generator and open up the door ahead. Once inside, you’ll spot a pool to the right with a giant tree branch leading to the higher platform.
Equipping the Effigy Necklace & Its Effects
Use theEye of Rymrgandor Ice spells to freeze the water so you can use it to cross the pool and climb the tree branch ahead. Use the tree branch to get up to the higher platform. Once you’re on the higher platform, look at the table to the right to get theEffigy NecklaceTotem Fragment.
Now, you’ll need totravel to your party campand place it on theSchemer’s Offering Totem Baseto activate its effect inAvowed. It offers a combat-based buff that lets you deal 20% of the damage received to the enemy within a 10-second window. It also stacks with Retribution.
