Many fans expressed confusion as to why the game was forcing them to either play solo or in groups of three.Speaking to Ungeek, Ishizaki addressed fan concerns about the restriction and revealed that allowing duos is now something that the studio is “considering.” This doesn’t mean that a duos mode is guaranteed forElden Ring Nightreign, but at least fan feedback is being considered.

Elden Ring Nightreign Considering 2-Player Co-Op

The vast majority ofElden Ringfans will have to wait until May 30 to playNightreign, but some lucky ones are able to play it this weekend. FromSoftware is currentlyhosting invite-onlyElden Ring NightreignNetwork Tests, and while connection issues have caused headaches, the response seems to be mostly positive. It’s possible more fan feedback from the tests will be taken into consideration in the months leading up toNightreign’s full launch, though that remains to be seen.

Even though Elden Ring Nightreign doesn’t have a dedicated duos option at the moment, you can still party up with one friend and then have the third slot filled by a random.

Elden Ring Nightreignis certainly a gamble for FromSoftware, and it will be interesting to see if it pays off. Various controversial decisions have been made about the game -like the lack of fan favorite character Torrentand having no 2-player co-op mode - but it seems to be providing an experience that is simultaneously unique and familiar for FromSoftware fans. Time will tell if fans connect with the final product, but we’ll find out come May 30.
