Ellen is an Attack character who deals Ice DMG inZenless Zone Zero. unfortunately for players who have Ellen, she’s very limited when it comes to finding characters that can match her demanding criteria. In order to get full advantage of her Additional Ability Rising Storm, you’ll have to pair her with a character with the same element or find someone from the Victoria Housekeeping faction.
That being said, once you invest inEllen’s team inZZZand get her the characters she’s suitable with, she quickly shows why she’s atop-tier character inZenless Zone Zero.
1Ellen + Lighter + Lycaon
While it’s not ideal to have two Stun units in one team, Lighter and Lycaon can both be in Ellen’s team due to their buffs and debuffs. Starting from Lighter, he can extend enemies’ Stun duration while providing a much-needed Ice DMG buff and debuff. On the other hand, Lycaon notably reduces enemies’ Ice resistance on top of increasing Ellen’s DMG against Stunned enemies. These effects are comparable to thebest Supports inZenless Zone Zero.
In order for Ellen to get all these beautiful buffs and debuffs, Lighter is going to be the one who builds up the Stun on the enemy, since hitting enemies is required to accumulate all his buffs. Before triggering Stun, make sure you switch to Lycaon to hit Lycaon’s EX Special Attack and trigger his Core Passive. After that, Stun enemies with Lighter tostart the Chain Attacks and switchto Lycaon to trigger his Additional Ability. Once Ellen makes it to the field to hit her Chain Attack, she’s ready to delete enemies.

2Ellen + Lighter + Soukaku
While Lycaon is a great Stun character for Ellen, Lighter takes the lead as one of the best Stun characters to include in Ellen’s teams inZenless Zone Zero. In this Ellen team, Lighter will buff her Ice DMG while debuffing enemies’ resistance to Ice DMG. He’s also capable of stunning enemies for longer durations to create an opportunity for Ellen to deal some serious DPS.
As for Soukaku, she’s a decent Support for Ellen since she increases her ATK and Ice DMG through her Core Passive and Additional Ability. Not to mention, Soukaku’s fourth Mindscape Cinema reduces enemies’ resistance to Ice, further improvingEllen’s performance as the main DPS of this team.
3Ellen + Lycaon + Soukaku
The classic mono-ice team for Ellen inZenless Zone Zerois one of the best teams in the game. Of course, it’s not comparable to Agents like Miyabi, but still, Ellen can deal some pretty good DMG with the help of Soukako and Lycaon in her team.
Starting from Lycaon, he’ll Stun enemies while providing Ellen with an extra Stun DMG Multiplier on top of reducing enemies' resistance to Ice. Switch to Soukaku who will apply her ATK buff while increasing Ellen’s Ice DMG, then ending up with Ellen quickly taking advantage of all that to showcase why she’s one of thebest 5-star characters inZenless Zone Zero.
While using Soukaku, make sure to tap her EX Special Attack to build up her stack, and hold to trigger Quick Assist and provide the buff. With full stacks, Soukaku’s ATK buff is doubled.
