Summary
New leaks of what’s coming next toFortniteshow off what could be new skins based on Iron Man and the characters from James Cameron’sAvatarfranchise. Iron Man has appeared in previousFortniteupdates, though the character’s return could herald new skin designs and gimmicks.
Over the years,Fortnitehas established itself as a veritable nexus of crossovers, becoming a place where virtually any pop-culture brand or franchise can find a temporary home. In fact, with the recentGodzillacrossover, some longtimeFortnitememes about crossoversbecame true. Fans of the game have likenedFortniteto the virtual world ofReady Player One, where participants can dress as any one of an endless number of popular characters and participate in their worlds as if they were real.
If new leaks are to be believed, one of the new worlds to joinFortnite’s multiverse could be Pandora.According to posts fromFortnitenews account HypeX, upcoming updates toFortnitewill feature the return of Iron Man in the form of a new skin with several variations, as well as anAvatarcollaboration. Not to be confused with theFortnite xThe Last Airbendercrossover, theseAvatarskins are based on Jake Sully and Neytiri from James Cameron’s blockbuster film series.
Fortnite Leaks Show Off New Iron Man Variants and Avatar Skins
The post shows off what look to be leaked images of the new Iron Man andAvatarskins. The Iron Man skin appears to be a variant of theIron Man Mk45 ArmorFortniteskin, though with brighter colors more inspired by the comics than the Marvel Cinematic Universe films. The skin also appears to be backed by cosmetic variants. One black-and-gold design appears to be based on an armor used by Tony Stark during Kieron Gillen’sInvincible Iron Mancomic run, while another features light panels inspired by various “stealthy” Iron Man suits from the comics. A third variant is green and silver, with elements that could tie the armor design to the outfit worn by Doctor Doom.
Meanwhile, theAvatarskins are based on the appearance of Jake and Neytiri as seen inAvatar: The Way of Water.Jake is in his Na’vi form, having long ago abandoned his human body to raise a family with Neytiri. Jake still bears some of the gear from his time as a human soldier. Neytiri wears a Na’vi outfit, though the design for theFortnitecrossover appears to have added a swimsuit of sorts, perhaps to reduce the amount of exposed skin in her character’s design.
If true, the latestFortniteleaks provide confirmation of two long-circulating rumors. Thereturn of Iron Man to theFortniteskin rosterhas been teased and rumored since mid-2024, while the thought of anAvatarcollaboration has been teased for even longer, with leaks going back as far as 2023. Fans of both Disney-owned properties will have much to look forward to in comingFortniteupdates.
