Although this won’t be the firstheist-related season thatFortnitehas introducedto its players, this one could offer even more in-depth mechanics and minigames related to the idea. It does seem like the previous heist season’s focus on loot-filled duffel bags may return, bringing back some of the best ideas from the past. Heists appear to be a themeFortnite’s developers enjoy coming back to and a concept that fans routinely get hyped about.
A newFortnitetrailer dropped on the game’s social media accounts, offering players a first look at gameplay for Chapter 6 Season 2, and there are plenty of aspects that have received a shakeup. The new trailer shows off new skin Big Dill alongside The Brat, a more classic skin, rapping over a beat asthe various new Battle Pass charactersengage in mayhem throughout the map. These characters appear to be making the most of the action happening in an array of new POIs, perhaps most notably using dynamite charges to bust open a bank vault.

As these new characters battle throughout the upgraded map, players can be seen grinding down rails into tunnels.Rail Grinding has been present inFortnitefor a whilenow, but it seems like there may be more opportunities to make use of the feature in a map that could prioritize heist-related hijinks and quick getaways. Glimpses of buildings redesigned to follow the season’s theme reveal a grittier aesthetic drenched in shadows that clash with bright neon lights, along with overcast skies. Players are shown wall jumping and building to pull off skilled kills and evade some of the newer weapons in play.
Many new gadgets are teased, with characters using various Shotguns, one new Double-Barrel type, and a Pump Shotgun that appears to be enhanced by an upgrade bench. A laser beam is used to slice an opening into a vault, but it’s also shown in battle. It may have strong damage potential, but it seems to be slower than other weapons. Thepreviously leaked Rocket Drillis also teased, hinting that this season may feature plenty of old and new ideas coming together to make something fresh. Season 6 Chapter 2 is set to drop on Friday, February 21.
