Summary
Fortnitefans have discovered that the Zapotron does no damage on the PC client.Fortnitefans occasionally notice issues that slipped through Epic Games' internal testing, and the Zapotron seems to be the latest example of this. While a fix was deployed by the developer, some players still seem to be impacted by the bug.
Since the originalFortniteOG season was released, it has returned as a game mode and has received its first follow-up season. With OG Season 2 underway, players are experiencing different classic points of interest from the original season, a revamped item rotation, and fresh cosmetics that provide a unique twist to classic ones. As OG includes changes like sprinting and walking while healing, it doesn’t precisely replicate the feeling of playing the original Season 2. Despite this, many players flock to the game mode for the classic feel over the modernFortniteChapter 6 Season 1. Some OG fans have discovered an issue with the Zapotron doing no damage despite being fully charged.
Twitter user Guille_GAG recently shared aFortnitevideo highlighting their experiences using a Zapotron against a target that’s standing still. Because this Legendary weapon is rare to come across inFortniteOG Season 2, some players may think that they have an advantage against their enemies when they loot one. Unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to be the case. The Zapotron requires a few moments of charging before it can be fired at enemies, leaving a slight delay between the gun being activated and its shot. The video shows that after this charge, the player fires the Zapotron point-black at an Iron Man skin that’s standing still, and it does no damage. The player repeats this process multiple times, and Iron Man never takes any damage. According to a Fortnite Status update, the Zapotron has been fixed, but some players appear to still be having issues with it after the patch.
The Fortnite Zapotron May Be Temporarily Useless
GiventheFortniteZapotronhasn’t been working on PC, players may choose to use different weapons, with even a common pistol doing more damage. Because the Zapotron needs to be charged before it can be shot, it can be difficult to aim even when it does damage. This Zapotron glitch further exacerbates the issue, potentially creating deadly scenarios for players who are expecting to do 150 damage as it does on console. Interestingly, the Iron Man in Guille_GAG’s clip reacts to being shot, but there are no indicators that he’s been damaged in any way, and he remains unscathed even after three shots. One Twitter user responded to the clip suggesting that the Zapotron issue was somehow related to the anti-cheat because console users haven’t experienced the same problem.
AsEpic Games continues to updateFortnite, the Zapotron may continue to be adjusted in subsequent patches or hotfixes. Given how many weapons and items are in the current OG loot pool, some players may not notice if it’s removed briefly while Epic fixes it.
