Thanks to a recentGenshin Impactleak, players can take an early look at the overworld map of the Great Volcano of Tollan, the upcoming Natlan zone in Version 5.5. While the Archon Quest has concluded for Natlan in Version 5.3, the Traveler’s journey in the Pyro Nation is far from over. After concluding their detour to Inazuma in Version 5.4,Genshin Impactplayers will go back to Natlan to continue the World Quest series in the Great Volcano of Tollan.
Thethird Natlan map expansion forGenshin Impactwill seemingly be packed with content, as it will feature both an aerial and a subterranean layer as part of its zone. Located on the northern slopes of the volcano, the Collective of Plenty will also make an appearance in Version 5.5. Players will be able to increase their reputation with the Electro Tribe of Natlan by running errands for the Collective of Plenty, while completing their Tribal Chronicle will also allow them to experience Varesa’s personal story.
As shared by Ukrisrengand explained by Uncle Teyvat, the Great Volcano of Tollan is intended to be a large zone in southwestern Natlan. The image only depicts the overworld area of the volcano, asGenshin Impactplayers will be able to explore a separate map of equal (or even bigger) size. A great comparison to this type of content update would be The Chasm, one of thebestGenshin Impactareasthat the game ever introduced. While it’s too early to tell if the Great Volcano of Tollan will live up to The Chasm, players can expect a decently-sized adventure in Version 5.5.
Genshin Impact Leak Reveals New Map for Version 5.5
Rather amusingly, the map seems to imply that the Collective of Plenty built their settlement into the mountain self. Given that the Great Volcano of Tollan is active, one can’t help but wonder about the wisdom of that decision. That being said, the Tatankasaurs are companions to the Collective of Plenty, and based on what is known about theability kit of Varesa inGenshin Impact, the Tatankasaurs should have some resistance to Liquid Phlogiston (lava).
The upcoming zone in Version 5.5 can be entered via a new path from the Stadium of the Sacred Flame, but it’s also possible for players to swim across from the People of the Springs. From a gameplay perspective, the Great Volcano of Tollan will introduce anew Artifact Domain toGenshin Impact, and it will also feature a new World Boss. Version 5.5 is expected to launch on July 01, 2025.
