Summary
Recent datamining efforts from theGenshin Impactbeta have revealed that Varesa will be accompanied by Xilonen and Xianyun on the Event Banners for Version 5.5, with Venti likely getting his rerun as well. While the gacha system inGenshin Impacthas been a popular topic in the past year or so, one thing that has come to define the Natlan era is having very strong banners. Xilonen and Chiori, Chasca and Lyney, Mavuika and Citlali, Arlecchino and Clorinde – all examples of Event Banners with a lot of value, both in terms of the featured characters and the resulting Weapon Banners.
The downside of prioritizing meta characters is that the less popular units, such as Shenhe, Ganyu, and Kokomi, have gone for well over a year since their last rerun. While theLiyue Chronicled Banner inGenshin Impactoffered a temporary solution, many players can’t help but wonder if the game is headed towards triple banners in the near future. After all, with almost a hundred characters to work with, maintaining a proper banner schedule has become nigh impossible.
According to Hakush.in, Version 5.5 will have Varesa, Xilonen, and Xianyun as the featured 5-Star characters. Much like Neuvillette during the Fontaine era, Xilonen appears to be bestowed with a swift rerun. Given her popularity and overall contribution to the meta, she will likely draw plenty of interest fromGenshin Impactplayers who were saving for the Pyro Archon in Version 5.1. On the other hand, Xianyun’s rerun comes as little surprise, as not only does the Spiral Abyss favor Plunging teams, but Varesa herself is a Plunge hypercarry. While the last spot is unconfirmed, the most likely candidate isVenti inGenshin Impact, whose appearance would complete the annual Archon run.
Genshin Impact: Version 5.5 Banner Characters
Even though Venti is a safe bet for Version 5.5, he simply hasn’t been the moneymaker that he used to be. In his last rerun in Version 4.1, Wriothesley outperformed Venti by a significant margin, whereas Kinich and Raiden were much closer in terms of contributing to their banner’s revenue. WhileNatlan inGenshin Impacthas been known to break patterns, and the Windblume Festival is rumored to return after Version 5.5, it’s unlikely that Venti will be postponed any further than he already has been.
While it’s too early to speculate on which 4-Stars will accompany these Event Banners,Genshin Impactplayers hope that Iansan will be paired up with Varesa. Much like Ororon and Chasca,Iansan and Varesa inGenshin Impactseem to have strong synergy, as Iansan favors hypercarries that have a lot of movement in their rotation. Players can expect more details on the Event Banners to emerge during the developer livestream on July 26, 2025.
