Summary

After much anticipation, a recentGenshin Impactleak finally offers players their first look at Iansan’s full ability kit, who is set to make her playable debut in Version 5.5 as a 4-star Electro Polearm. Travail characters hold a special place in the hearts ofGenshin Impactplayers, as not only are they the first impression of each individual region of Teyvat, but they have also been teased since September 2020. The road from first appearance to playable debut has been a long one for Iansan, and she certainly carried heavy expectations as the doors of Natlan opened in August 2024.

While her role in the Archon Quest was relatively small compared to Citlali or Ororon, Iansan being a pint-sized warrior and fitness instructor made her a popular character in an ever-growing cast. However, when Iansan was confirmed to be a4-star character inGenshin Impact, it sparked some controversy among fans – especially since the 5-star of her patch, Varesa, also belonged to the Collective of Plenty and shared Iansan’s element.

According to Seele Leaks, Iansan is aSupport character inGenshin Impactthat can heal, provide an ATK buff, and has a unique attack combo that triggers though her Elemental Skill. The most exciting thing about her ability kit is that Iansan seems to fill the same niche as Bennett, except her Elemental Burst isn’t restricted to a circle radius, but rather follows the active character around. The duration of the buff isn’t fixed, and can be extended as long as the active character keeps moving. It is currently unclear if Plunging Attacks count as distance traveled, but assuming they do, Iansan could establish herself as a powerful Support for Plunge teams inGenshin Impact.

Constellations

The Constellations forIansan inGenshin Impactappear to be generous, as many players will likely be satisfied with just C2 on its own. Curiously, the amount of Nightsoul Points restored via Iansan’s first passive is increased if a Natlan character is present in the party, making her the perfect teammate for Varesa. Pairing Iansan with a Natlan character also unlocks her healing, as it gets activated by triggering a Nightsoul Burst.

While her exact multipliers are currently unknown, the community has had nothing but glowing praise for Iansan’s ability kit. In fact, the excitement is so palpable that many of her fans are nervous. They worry that Iansan won’t survive beta testing, and that her ability kit will be significantly nerfed in the coming weeks. Though the Event Banners for Version 5.5 have yet to be revealed, fans expect Iansan to be paired up with either Varesa, Venti, orXianyun inGenshin Impact. Version 5.5 is set to launch on July 27, 2025.
