George R.R. Martin Gave His In the Lost Lands Adaptation Movie a Glowing Review
In the new issue of SFX magazine (viaGamesRadar),Resident Evildirector Paul W. S. Anderson, who directed Martin’sIn The Lost Landsadaptation, stated that theGame of Thronesauthor had high praise for the new take on his works. Anderson expressed that he felt very nervous taking on the movie but decided to screen a viewing of the film for Martin in the author’s New Mexico private theater. Thankfully, Martin loved it, saying to the director that the adaptation “captured his voice better than anyone had in an adaptation, which made me feel amazing.”
“I have to say, having been in this industry for a little while and made a bunch of movies, it’s the most nervous I’ve ever been having a screening.”
Paul W.S. Anderson’sIn The Lost Landsstars Milla Jovovich (Resident Evil) as Gray Alys andDave Bautista(Guardians of the Galaxy) as Boyce, who takes on the role of a witch and a hunter and journey together through a visually hellish landscape to find an artifact for a queen. The adaptation was produced by Anderson, Jovovich, Bautista, and Werner, along with Jeremy Bolt, Robert Kulzer, and Jonathan Meisner.
Anderson also told SFX magazine that fans were in for a different take on the usual fairytale narrative withIn The Lost Landsand should expect plenty of gore and a few shocking surprises. “It’san adult fairy tale with bone-crunching violence and horrific surprises. Looks-wise, it’s very different from anything I’ve done before. I really wanted to embrace the mythic fairy tale quality of it, so it’s an R-rated fairy tale, that’s for sure.”
In The Lost Landsreleases on March 7 in US theaters and UK cinemas on March 14.
