Arrowhead Game Studios CEO Shams Jorjani has revealed the one change he wants to see made toHelldivers 2’s armor system.Helldivers 2is an ever-evolving experience, with Arrowhead Game Studios always looking to tweak things to improve the game.
It has been over a year sinceHelldivers 2’s massive launch in early 2024, but Arrowhead Game Studios has remained committed to making it the best game it can possibly be. There have been a few controversial decisions along the way, and the studio has always done a good job of course-correcting where possible. It’s a shining example of live service done right, withHelldivers 2even recently taking its first step into the world of crossovers.
As reported byVideo Gamer, Arrowhead Game Studios CEO Shams Jorjani has been speaking on Discord aboutHelldivers 2’s armorsystem, more specifically, passives. Jorjani stated that he’d “like to see a total rework of armor passives and tie it to a fun progressions system.” Elaborating a little more, he said, “I don’t think we need to go bananas with plate systems and stuff - but we could do so much more,” also making sure to point out that this is “All personal opinions… I don’t go anywhere near design.”
Helldivers 2 CEO Wants a “Total Rework of Armor Passives”
Right now, players are limited to twopassives on their armor inHelldivers 2, which forces players to prioritize in strategic ways. This is interesting in its own right, but expanding this with an entirely new progression system is an interesting prospect, too. Again, it’s worth mentioning that this isn’t confirmation that any kind of rework is on the way, and is simply the personal opinion of the developer’s CEO. The game’s design team may feel differently about the subject.
As forHelldivers 2itself, the game is primed for a bright future ahead. A few months back, Arrowhead Game Studios confirmed thatHelldivers 2will grow into its own sequelas time passes, eventually transforming into an entirely new game as a result of frequent updates. It’s a fascinating approach to a live-service title, but one that could pay dividends if it works out well. Only time will tell, but things are still going very well forHelldivers 2.
