Hunts inMonster Hunter Wildscan be completed by either killing the monster you’re going after or capturing it. While there are a few differences betweenkilling and capturing monsters, both will give you drops from the monster that can be used to make stronger weapons and gear.
Capturing monsters requires you to tranquilize them after they are trapped in some way, and the only way to tranquilize a monster is with aTranq Bombor Tranq Ammo. If you want to consistently capture monsters, you’ll need a lot of Tranq Bombs, here’s how to easily get the materials and craft them.
How To Craft Tranq Bombs In Monster Hunter Wilds
The basic method for tranquilizing a monster is to use Tranq Bombs, and later recipes on this list will also require Tranq Bombs, making them an important resource to stock up on. Tranq Bombs can be crafted in theCrafting List, in the Traps/Offense menu on the third page. To craft a Tranq Bombs you’ll need:
Since you’ll need these for any method you choose, it’s worthturning on Auto-Craftfor them especially since nothing else uses the same materials.Sleep Herbcan be a fairly rare material, and are only farmed in a few locations spread out across each region. Parashrooms are much more common and shouldn’t be an issue to find, soSleep Herbs will usually be the bottle-neck itemfor your Tranq Bomb supply.
Using Tranq Bombs
Tranq Bombs alone are a worthwhile option to knock out enemies, you’ll just need to be close. You’ll first need to make sure the monster isready to be capturedbefore approaching it with the Tranq Bomb in your item bar. Using a Tranq Bomb willdrop it right at your feet and explode into a small cloud, affecting anything right next to your hunter. If you’d rather safer, ranged options, there are more things to do with a Tranq Bomb.
Your hunter is not affected by standing in the Tranq cloud.
There are two options for Tranq Ammo to craft:
Tranq Blade
Tranq Bomb + Throwing Knife (You always have an infinite supply of these)
Tranq Ammo
Tranq Bomb + Normal Arrow (You always have an infinite supply of these)
Either option is essentially another form of a Tranq Bomb sincethe other materials aren’t ones you need to collect. Both options are just as effective, as long as you hit your target. Tranq Ammo can be loaded into andfired from a Bowgun, while Tranq Blades can be used with any main weapon since it’s loaded into your Slinger.
