When it comes to endgame crafting inMonster Hunter Wilds, getting monster parts isn’t enough - players will also need Hunter Symbols, a type of crafting material that’s more of a badge of honor than anything else.
Hunter Symbols are going to be one of the main things tochase in the endgame, and while they’re fairly easy to get, the game doesn’t quite tell players where to actually find them. If you’re not sure where to farm Hunter Symbols, here’s a guide to help you out.
Monster Hunter Wilds: Farming Hunter Symbol I, II, and III
Hunter Symbols drop from Tempered monsters, and the type of symbol you get depends on how high up the food chain a monster is. Specifically, you’ll need to keep the following in mind:
Hunter Symbols cannot be carved, nor do they drop frombroken monster wounds. Playersmust complete their huntsin order to get symbols.
The number of Hunter Symbols one can get from a hunt seems to vary from hunt to hunt. A Tempered Arkveld may drop only one symbol, while a Tempered Nu Udra might drop several, despite the former being much harder to fight than the latter.
Each Tempered hunt should guarantee at least one Hunter Symbol. If you want to get more, you cantry using Lucky Vouchers. However, we only recommend using those when farming Hunter Symbol III.
Farming in Multiplayer
Since Hunter Symbols require players to fight more difficult enemies, sending an SOS flare or joining someone else’s quest might be the best move in order to get symbols as quickly and as easily as possible. However, one should always keep in mind thatthe odds of quest failure increase as more players join a hunt.
To verify the team doesn’t incurtoo many Faint penalties, cook a meal withSild Garlic. This will give you theMoxie Meal (Lo) buff, which essentially prevents you from getting one-shotted by a monster as long as your health remains above a certain level (as marked by a notch on your health bar).
