How To Get The Onyx Blade In Dark Souls 3
Believe it or not, you’re able to get the Onyx Blade from an early point in the game. If you’ve ever started theAshes of AriandelDLC before, you know that all you need to do to enter the painted world is to talk to Slave Knight Gael, who can be found kneeling and praying in the Cleansing Chapel near the Cathedral of the Deep. This means that if you hurry, you can enter the Painted World of Ariandel and make your way towards getting the Onyx Blade within the first few hours of your playthrough. However, this is not recommended, as the Painted World of Ariandel is extremely tough, so it’s advised to wait until you finish the base game before you venture into it.
Assuming your character is already strong enough to safely navigate through the Painted World of Ariandel, you’ll want to make your way to the chapel in the area, where Sister Friede is. There, you’ll meet Sir Vilhelm, who drops the Onyx Blade. He won’t be hostile the first time, but during your second encounter near the library in the Corvian Settlement, he will attack you. What Are Some Good Builds For The Onyx Blade?
While the Onyx Blade can be used for various builds, a Quality build makes great use of it. When upgraded to +1, it has a Strength and Dexterity scaling rating of “D”, so if you’re doing a Quality build, your damage output will be increased equally as you slowly level these Attributes up.
