FortniteChapter 6 Season 2 has various vaults that players can break into in order to quickly improve their loadout with high-rarity weapons. In previous seasons, gamers would have to take down a boss and collect the vault access card or a medallion, which would then open the vault door. That is no longer the case - now, gamers have to break it up.
If players are planning on breaking into a vault, they will have to get themselves some Thermite - anitem introduced toFortnitefor the first time in Chapter 6 Season 2. This guide will help players find Thermite inFortniteand show them how to use it.
How to Find Thermite in Fortnite
InFortnite, Thermite can most commonly be found as floor loot, inside chest containers, or obtained from Go Bags- often located near locations with Bank Vaults.
Players can stack up to 6 Thermites in the same inventory slot.
Alternatively, gamers can ensure that they get their hands on some Thermite by visiting one of theBlack Market locationson the map and purchasing it for50 Gold.
How to Use Thermite in Fortnite
Once players have gathered some Thermite, they can head up to any vault and approach the door to plant it. This will start to damage the door, and it will eventually open. While the Thermite continues to weaken the door, a weakspot will also appear; gamers can shoot it or hit it with a melee weapon to get it open faster.
On top of damaging vault doors, Thermite can also be used offensively in combat. Thermite fire damage deals 3 damage per tick. If when it explodes, it’ll deal 15 damage to a player if they are hit by the fire. Additionally, it will also burn down wooden structures, which can greatly damage opponents if they come in contact with the flames.
