Combat inKingdom Come: Deliverance 2is one of the most important aspects of the gameplay loop. But it can be very hard to wrap your head around, especially for players who have not played the first game beforehand.
One of the most effective tools in Henry’s arsenal is the ability to fake out his opponents by aiming at one side but attacking from another. This method is called feinting and can be devastating if used at the right moment during a hectic combat encounter. Here is how to do it.
How to Feint in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
To feint an attack inKCD2, you need to follow three simple steps.
The way this works is that when Henry enters a power attack animation (holding his weapon in a position ready to strike), the NPC in front of him adjusts his stance to counterattack accordingly. So when Henry switches his attack pattern just before actually committing to the attack, the NPC is caught off-guard and ends up taking a direct hit instead of having the ability to parry or block the attack.
The shorter the window within which Henry switches attack direction before committing to an attack, the more successful the feint will be.
Performing a feint does not guarantee a 100% success rate, but it significantly increases the chance of putting the enemy in an awkward position where they cannot defend against your attack. The more skilled the enemy, the less chance there is of them falling for the feint.
Feinting consumes stamina and can put Henry in a vulnerable position iffighting multiple enemies at the same time.
The Warfare perk, Masterful Feint, makes Henry’s feints vastly more effective against experienced foes like armored knights and guards. Taking this perk at level 14 can be a game-changer. Best of all, this perk applies toall weapon types.
