Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2is the best game for those looking to experience medieval life, and this involves playing as a knight, resplendent in full plate armor. One of the most immersive details and mechanics is that Henry can lower his visor, gaining protection at the cost of vision. In the first game, this was done automatically upon drawing a weapon, and unfortunately, cutscenes and dialogue would play out with the visor down, meaning Henry’s face could not be seen.

This has been improved upon in the sequel, asHenry’s visor will always be raised during dialogue, allowing players to see more of Tom McKay’s wonderful acting. Players also havecomplete control over their visor in combator when exploring, but this means players need to knowhow to raise and lower their visor inKCD2, whether they are using acontroller or keyboard and mouse.

How To Raise Or Lower Your Visor In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

If players have found a helmet with a visor, then raising or lowering it is thankfully easy to do. This canonly be done during actual gameplay, and cannot be changed during dialogue, where it is always down.

Remember thatto wear a helmet, Henry must have acoif of some sort equipped.

With A Controller - Hold Down On The D-Pad

For players who areusing a controller, lowering and raising the visor is done byholding Up on the d-pad. This should not be confused with simply pressing Up, which will instead bring up the map. It is the opposite of holding the Down button on the d-pad, which ishow to equip a torch inKCD2.

With Keyboard & Mouse - Z Key

Raising and lowering Henry’s visor is actuallyfaster for those using a keyboard and mouse, as it is bound to theZ keyas default, and itdoes not need to be held down.

There’s currentlyno way to raise or lower the visor in the Inventory menu, but if Henry has it lowered, it will appear this way in the menu too.

Should You Lower Your Visor In Combat In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2?

The defensive value of havingfull face protection arguably outweighs the slight loss of vision, especially if players are facing weapons that can pierce, such as a longsword. In a one-on-one duel, the tunnel vision doesn’t matter so definitely put your visor down, but an argument could be made for raising itwhen facing multiple enemies inKCD2.

If PC players want the protection of having their visor down, without losing their vision, then there isa mod for this. Note that official modding support is coming toKCD2, so hopefully, this will continue to work or something better will be available on the Steam Workshop.
