Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2is a true RPG that fans have been yearning for over the years, featuring a thriving world that reacts to every decision and moment of gameplay. One thing thatsome players have struggledwith, however, especially those who didn’t experience the first game, is thesaving system.
For the most part, players aretaught to save the game by usingSaviour Schnapps, a drink thatcan be brewed, purchased, or found. Nevertheless, players will occasionally find themselves wonderinghow to save inKCD2without Saviour Schnapps, if for whatever reason they don’t have any. Thankfully, there are many alternative ways to save.
How To Save Without Saviour Schnapps In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
Save & Sleep In Beds
Henry needs his sleep to restore his energy, and unless players are on a stealth mission or earning some Groschen as a thief, then there’s not much point being awake during the night.
Thus, players should try to get in the habit of sleeping at night, and if it is their own bed,the game will also save. Henry canpurchase beds at taverns, and sometimes characters such as the Tachov blacksmith willgive Henry a free bed.
Players only have to sleep for 1 hour if they want to quickly save the game before heading off somewhere.
During time-based main missions, Henry unfortunately cannot sleep oradvance time.
Auto Saves In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
Thankfully,KCD2has more frequent auto-saves than the first game. These aren’t on a time-based system, instead, the game saves uponstarting new quests,finishing quests, and uponcompleting some major objectivesduring quests. This ismore true for main missionsrather than side quests.
During main quests where players arerestricted to certain locations, such as sneaking around a castle, they willencounter more frequent auto-saves.
Save At The Bathhouse
Another option to save the game is tovisit a bathhouse. Usually, Henry comeshere to clean, have his clothes washed, heal, and potentially spend some time in pleasant company.
The more options Henry chooses, themore hours will pass by. So if you’re mainly interested in saving,ask for a simple bath with no extras.
Save When Switching Regions In KCD2
After reaching the Kuttenberg map partway through the story, players cantravel between the two maps inKCD2. To do so they will need to find a coachman near the edge of each map.
Thankfully, when they travel to the other map, the game will save.
Save & Quit The Game When Desperate
If players ever find themselvesin a pickle, without any Saviour Schnapps, no bed to save in, or anything else, there isone legit option left.
Simply go to themain menuand selectSave & Quit. When they reload, the game will pick up exactly where they left off.
Be careful though, as this will delete any previous Save & Quit files.
How To Save With Cheats In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
The save system isnot for everyone, and in this single-player experience, players can do as they likewithout affecting anyone else’s time. There may also be some times when playersrun into an issue or bugand need to save using a console command or mod.
Using Console Command To Save In KCD2
One way to save the game inKCD2without Saviour Schnapps is touse a console command.
This will save the game as though the player used Saviour Schnapps, without actually using or requiring any.
Mods
IfPC playersaren’t a fan of the save system, they caninstall the Unlimited Saving II mod. It allows them to save the game normally, justwithout Saviour Schnapps.
Official mod support is on the way forKCD2as well, meaning players whodon’t like messing around with game fileswill hopefully have an easier way to access this mod or something similar.
