Catching fish inStardew Valleyisn’t the most profitable way to earn money, but it does offer a challenge that has drawn many players to the cozy life simulator. As of the most recent update, more than 60 types of fish can be caught in the game, either by casting a line into the water or baiting crab pots. Most of these can only be caught during certain seasons at specific fishing locations, but there are also 10 Legendary Fish that are even harder to find and catch.
Stardew Valley’s Legend fishis one of the original five legendary fish, and it can only be found by players when fishing on a rainy spring day at the Mountain Lake with a maxed-out fishing skill and the bobber landing at least five tiles away from any land. Even when found, it’s notoriously hard to catch, as it quickly and skillfully weaves in and out of the hitbox on the game’s fishing meter, escaping far more often than not. On February 28, Dennings posted an image to her Instagram Threads account showing her in-game avatar standing on the small island at the center of the lake, hoisting the elusive fish high above her head, captioned with a celebratory and exasperated “FINALLY OH MY GOD.”
