Summary

Agatha All Alongmight be over now, but fans still want to see the show’s leading lady play a part in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and with the Avengers films returning to theaters soon she’s finally given an answer on one possible vector for return.

Agatha All Alongtook a long while to make it to the MCU after it was announced as a spinoff from the franchise’s very first Disney+ show, but the wait was certainly worth it for fans of Katherine Hahn’s antagonisticWandavisioncharacter. Bringing an all new sort of energy to the franchise,Agatha All Alongwould actually see its main character receive some (arguably) much deserved karmic retribution. Better yet, the show introduced a whole host of interesting new characters to the franchise, including Aubrey Plaza’s Rio Vidal, who isrumored to be in line for her own deathlyAgatha All Alongspinoff, which would be a monumental achievement for a show that is, itself, a spinoff.

We Don’t Need Agatha All Along Season 2

WhileAgatha All Alonggave viewers a new fan-favorite heroin Wiccan and a new potential threat in Vidal, there’s still a lot of demand to see more of Hahn’s Agatha, and one big potential stage for her return is the upcomingAvengers: DoomsdayandAvengers: Secret Warsmainline films that are going into production. Fans have been excited about the potential for Agatha to offer the MCU’s new band of Avengers some magical assistance against Doom, an opponent that has always used the mystic arts in tandem with cutting-edge technology that rivals Reed Richards’. However, Hahn herself has gone on the record as entirely unconvinced that she’ll be making an appearance. When a correspondent forThe Hollywood Reporterasked if there was a role for Agatha in the upcomingAvengersfilms that are about to start production, the star didn’t mince words. “I don’t think so,” Hahn said succinctly. “I think I would know by now.”

This news is likely a big disappointment for many fans, as it was the one clear chance for the character to return in a prominent role soon. It’s clear that anAgatha All Alongseason 2 would be totally unnecessary, as the limited series told a compelling and (more importantly) complete story throughout its run and left its eponymous character a bit too ghoulish to headline another season in the lead role. However, it would also be a waste of the show’s brilliant last-minute necromantic twist not to use Hahn’s character in big future events. With a resume as impressive as any Sorcerer Supreme and (maybe just a little) newfound motivation to help out the right side, Agatha could be a real asset against Doom. Hahn has also mastered the art of the MCU’s overarching comic delivery, making her a great presence for serious situations that require some occasional, well-done levity.

A recent rumor suggests thatDoomsdayis facing delays specifically becausethe cast for theAvengersfilm is still being sortedat Marvel Studios, meaning that there’s still a very real chance that Hahn gets that call ahead of the production ending. With the two films set apart and tons of other related projects likely to fill in the space between the two big event films,Avengers:Secret Warsmight be even more well-placed for a magical appearance from HahnandWiccan. Fans will have to stay tuned to find out how things play out, but for now, Agatha’s discouraging prediction will just have to suffice as truth.
