It is a time of big changes for Bungie andDestiny 2, with Heresy acting as the third and last Episode for the looter-shooter in preparation for the new model and content coming with Frontiers later this year. Heresy has been great for the game so far, and based on the latest livestream from Bungie, there will be a lot more juice coming to the Episode over time; from Guardian Games and its new boss-rush mode to a Dreadnaught activity called Court of Blades, and from a new PvP mode toDestiny 2’s Rite of the Nine event. Destiny 2 Heresy Act 2 Comes With Huge Gameplay Changes
In terms of gameplay, Heresy Act 2 is already looking like a great update. Court of Blades is not only inspired by the Court of Oryx, but it features a similar and yet faster loop compared to The Nether. According to Bungie, it’s an activity more focused on slaying out a lot of enemies and rewarding players for it, which is a nice change of pace.
On top of that,Destiny 2’s Heresy weaponsare getting five new entries, with some being very good on paper. For example, the Refusal of the Call glaive is the first Straind glaive in the game, and it features amazing perk combos like Replenishing Aegis and Sword Logic. Then, players will be able to get the first two out of four Exotic Catalysts for Barrow-Dyad, with the option of picking Target Lock for a massive damage buff.
Last but not least, the five new Artifact mods are quite potent, and they can all benefit one already broke build in the game.Destiny 2’s Arc Warlocks have an OP buildin Heresy, using Geomag Stabilizers for more Super Energy gains and more Chaos Reach damage, which pairs nicely with Coldheart as a trace rifle due to its intrinsic way of producing Ionic Traces. This can be further boosted with Beam Medic to heal on kills as well as Harsh Refraction to deal more damage with Coldheart, all while getting even more Super damage with Limit Break.
What to Expect From Guardian Games 2025 in Destiny 2
To round Act 2 off, players will get to partake in Guardian Games, an event dedicated to the competition between all three classes. In addition to the event’s loot from past editions, this year there will be a new Arc trace rifle called Keraunios, capable of rolling good perks like the new Detonator Beam. Perhaps more importantly, Guardian Games 2025 will feature a boss-rush mode similar toDestiny 2’s Pantheon, which may prove to be extremely popular.
