Streaming was an odd home forMad Max. These are massive blockbuster action films that should probably be seen on the biggest screen you can find. Only after the franchise came to home viewing and word-of-mouth started spreading did the audience find their way to the wasteland. It’s a tragic truth that could lay theMad Maxmovies low before the long-standing creator behind them all runs out of stories to tell.

Those who missedFuriosa, including astartlingly substantial percentage of the blockbuster viewing audience, should leap to Netflix and enjoy it right after their high-speedFury Roadrewatch.
Does anyone need to be sold onMad Max: Fury Road? When it came out a decade ago, all those who saw it celebrated it as the dawn of a new era ofpeerless practical effects, epic action set pieces, and brutal thematic resonance in the action genre. It didn’t do that, but it did stand out all the more for its unique accomplishments.Fury Roadis a true epic that captures every level of enjoyment to be found in a great action blockbuster. On its surface, it’s a massive cacophony of some of the wildest sounds and images ever put to the screen. Anyone looking to sell the film to a friend need only mention the guy who shoots a torrent of flame out of his electric guitar or the pole vaulters with dynamite spears. However, those who look deeper than the madness will find one of the most sincere, heartrending, and genuinely deep action films of the last decade. It’s an examination ofeverything from violence to femininitywith the kind of incisive takes that a film can only shout from the top of an armored death truck.
Mad Max: Fury Roadwas nominated foran astonishing 10 Oscarsat the 88th Academy Awards. It took home a whopping six Oscars, the most of any movie released that year. The film earned nominations for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Cinematography, and Best Visual Effects and won the following six Oscars:
