Palworldhas many interesting creatures, known as Pals, with designs that appeal to many fans. Pocketpair has certainly put effort into ensuring that each Pal stands out in one way or another, and many of them are memorable due to their appearances and abilities. Good as that may be, the developer decided not to include a Pal that could have reached the popularity ofMarvel Rival’s own Jeff the Land Shark, which could have been a great opportunity for the game.

It is easy to see why Jeff has become something of a mascot forMarvel Rivals, as his design is an adorable take on a dangerous sea creature that can hold its own in a fight.Palworldcould have had something similar, as it was revealed in an interview with the Communications Director and Publishing Manager at Pocketpair, and via an image that was shown during apresentation at ThinkingData Summit 2024, that there were plans to include a shark-like Pal in the game. Although it never came to life, Pocketpair could still decide to add the creature to the game with a future update, and hopefully it does.

Why Palworld Should Work on Turning the Scrapped Shark Pal Into an Actual In-Game Creature

Since learning aboutPalworld’s scrapped shark Pal, fans have been vocal in their requests that Pocketpair reverse the decision to exclude the creature from the game. The developer may want to consider this idea, as adding the shark could benefit the game in a few ways:

Regardless of whether the Shark Pal ended up being one ofthe best Pals for combat, or one of the worst, simply adding the creature could be a boon forPalworld. It could certainly turn the heads of fans and would-be players, and Pocketpair could use that attention to help grow its game even more.

The Opportunity That Comes With Revisiting the Scrapped Shark Pal

Should Pocketpair ever decide that the scrapped idea is worth revisiting, it could mean good news for some of the otherunreleased Pals ofPalworld. There are quite a number that have yet to make their way into the game, and the developer could release them alongside the shark-like creature. Doing so would attract a lot of attention, while also adding unique designs and (potentially) new typings and movesets, to the current list of Pals. Also, their additions could be used as a reason to implement a major update, which could feature a new island that could house the new Pals, a new faction to deal with, and other interesting content that will improvePalworldand get the community excited.

The release of the shark Pal is something that some players nowexpect fromPalworld, and while there’s no guarantee, it could happen. Adding it could definitely be beneficial for both the game and its fans, and Pocketpair may want to consider revisiting the shark Pal in the future.
