Summary

After nearly twenty years, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is now populated with a wide array of heroes and villains from various franchises. As a result, fans have enjoyed exciting team-ups such as the Avengers, the pairing of Deadpool and Wolverine, and multiple versions of Spider-Man working together.

Unfortunately, despite limitless potential in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel Studios have yet to take advantage of certain pairings and full-on teams from the comics in live-action form. That doesn’t mean that the future has no hope for them, as the franchise continues to advance via movies, television shows, and specials.

7Heroes For Hire

Daredevil’s Return Could Bring Back More Netflix Heroes

When Netflix’sThe Defendersfeatured Luke Cage and Iron Fist on the team, it seemed like the logical next step would be to have the two becomeHeroes For Hire. Unfortunately, Netflix canceled all their Marvel Cinematic Universe shows, and all hopes of that kind of spin-off appeared to be destroyed.

Fortunately, with Daredevil and the Punisher returning to the MCU inDaredevil: Born Againas a Disney+ original series, the other street-level heroes from the Netflix world can return. Luke Cage and Iron Fist being blue-collar heroes that can be hired akin to an exterminator for criminals is a unique concept for a superhero team that can allow for a fun episodic season with new villains every episode.

6Spider-Man And Daredevil

Peter And Matt Are Great Friends In The Comics

After Matt Murdock had an applause-worthy cameo inSpider-Man: No Way Home, many hoped that it would be the beginning of the friendship betweenSpider-Man and Daredevil. Unfortunately, Spider-Man has yet to return to the MCU since that film, and Daredevil went on to have a fun reappearance in his golden suit in theShe-Hulk: Attorney At Lawseries.

Daredevil and Spider-Man have a lot in common in the comics, from being quippy with their opponents to being adamant about non-lethal methods. This allows them to be great partners, and fans hope to see Tom Holland and Charlie Cox have a similar dynamic, even if it’s only for one movie or an episode ofDaredevil: Born Again.

5Spider-Man And Venom

Sony Fumbled The Chance To Have These Characters Meet

Putting Tom Holland and Tom Hardy together asSpider-Man and Venomshould have been the endgame for Sony. Instead, Venom spent only seconds in the MCU before being sent back to the Sony universe and having his final chapter without any kind of Spider-Man, even though Hardy was allfor his version of Venommeeting the MCU Spider-Man.

Now that Tom Hardy is done with Venom, it seems like there is no chance to see Spider-Man and Venom fight and/or team up for an adventure. However, the ending ofSpider-Man: No Way Hometeased that a piece of the Venom symbiote is still in the MCU. So, perhaps Spider-Man will get the symbiote duringSecret Wars, thus planting the seeds for a new Eddie Brock to become Venom.

4Young Avengers

The Perfect Team For A Disney+ Series

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has introduced several young heroes, including Stinger, the new Hawkeye, Ms. Marvel, Wiccan, and America Chavez. There is potential for forming theYoung Avengers, especially afterThe Marvels, which features Ms. Marvel meeting the new Hawkeye: Kate Bishop. However, there has been no official announcement regarding a Young Avengers project.

Disney+ would be the ideal place for the Young Avengers, as that’s where nearly all the potential members have had their start. The main team of Avengerscan continue to assemble on the big screen while the Young Avengers can tackle their standalone threats in a series or movie while having the potential to eventually crossover in future events such asSecret Wars.

3Masters Of Evil

There Are More Than Enough Villains To Create A Team

As fun as heroes are, people love to see villains together, but, shockingly, theMasters Of Evilhas never been attempted in the many years of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. They are to the Marvel Universe what the Legion Of Doom is to DC, a collectionof the Avengers’ greatest foesworking together to destroy or conquer the world.

There have been many instances where the villains that weren’t killed off could have returned as a team. Even now, with Helmut Zemo, Kingpin, Mordo, Scorpion, Justin Hammer, Yon-Rogg, and Ultron all still alive, those faces working together would be quite a threat to the Avengers. Instead, Avengers films seem more interested in singular threats.

2Midnight Suns

The Supernatural Side Of Marvel Continues To Rise

For many years, the Marvel Cinematic Universe was more sci-fi based, but that has slowly changed. With Doctor Strange, Moon Knight, Werewolf By Night, Elsa Bloodstone, Black Knight, Man-Thing, Blade, and, potentially, Ghost Rider all existing in the MCU, Marvel Studios has everything they could ever need to develop movie or series about theMidnight Suns.

Not every big event in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has to be an Avengers movie. Each of the supernatural heroes that have been introduced is also left open for more to come. Considering there are villainsin the comics, such as Dracula, Lilith, and Mephisto, it would be the perfect thing to bring the Midnight Suns together for a new kind of adventure with unique visuals.

1Sinister Six

The Supervillain Team Should Be In The New Spider-Man Trilogy

DespiteSpider-Man: No Way Homefeaturing many iconic villains, it still wasn’t theSinister Sixsince only three of them worked together in the film, with Green Goblin being a rogue and Doc Ock becoming the Spider-Men’s ally. They were only one villain away from becoming the Sinister Six, which seemed like the ultimate missed opportunity.

Sony has been trying their hardest to get the Sinister Six off the ground, whether it was the Andrew Garfield or Tom Holland versions, but it never worked out due to a poor attempt at villain solo movies with no connection to Spider-Man. With Tom Holland beginning a new trilogy with Scorpion and Vulture still out there, many hope that he is the Spider-Man to get such a challenge as the Sinister Six.
